Thicker Shrooms
« on: May 19, 2009, 11:06:39 PM »

What would be the cause of the stems getting Thinner the closer they get to the Caps?  What causes them to grow downward?  Even if they started to grow upwards first.. maybe the stems getting Thinner couldn't support the weight of the caps.  Which brings me back to my first question..  No need to ask about my fruiting chamber or grow set-up.  I really am just curious of the cause..

What strain? And how "severe" is the growth difference? Photos? Not really enough info here.

long thin stems with small caps is the result of lack of fresh air exchange. Mushrooms will grow this way when co2 builds up in your terrarium.

Also, lack of moisture within your substrate will cause small mushrooms.

Make sure you are fanning out your terrairum enough aswell as mistng before you fan out.

I guess that old saying "you learn something new everyday" is actually valid.

Only with an open mind. I think we all can name a few folks who don't seem to have learned anything new for quite some time...
