Grrr .... the heat sucks ass for me and my little ones!!

jonny boy

yeah baby... woke up today and found the first signs of growth.. not too much longer till i birth i hope

jonny boy

so correct me if im wrong.. once 100% colonized wait a week for the colony to digest the substrate.. then after (solely speaking about golden teachers) do i wait for pinning in the jar or just go ahead and birth??

Birth those cakes and then dunk and roll! You will soon be on your way to success.

jonny boy

so today i finally reached 100% colonization on Sunday i will birth my babies only to drowned them in a bucket of water.. seems like it took a long time comparing to what ive been reading on here..

darksyde

The time it takes to colonize varies from strain to strain.. My cambo's colonized pint jars in 6 days from innoc, but I have some mazatapec mexico's that I noc'd 2 1/2 weeks ago, and they still are'nt ready yet.. I would be interested on your updates with the GT's though, cuz I just got a syringe and will be trying those out soon as well.. It wont be long now though.. Nice Job

jonny boy

so i finally have the cake soaking and will put them in the fc at 530 pm i put the perlite in the fc already i use one bag and its about 3 inches deep i have holes every 2 to 3 inches on the lid and bottom of the fc but im only getting 80% hum. the room temp is about 79 degrees. you think i should put more perlite to help with the r/h

dub504

jonny boy

what if lowering the temp is not an option? i can only put a fan on and open the window an a/c is not an option either.. this sucks because i have limited resources

malabar

Jonny boy,
As Dub told you,....  That temp Does need to come down !    The only other option:   Leave it high and face an Increased risk of Contamination.
Since you are growing Cubes,.. They will fruit in the most ridiculous of environments, ( even in the 90F range ).  But, those molds, yeasts and other greebies you have been so diligent about not having over for snacks, will be sitting in the FC with a knife, fork and spoon!  Just waiting to dig in.
After you get that temperature under control, you could possibly tape off some of those holes at the top.  The CO2 is heavy, and with proper FAE, circulation or even fanning should be dispersed w/o problem down below.
But, I would get focused on dropping the temps.  For real!

i dont know shit about shit when it comes to shrooms.. but what about ice its cold, its wet, could that work

malabar

Jonny boy,
The concept you have is correct, unfortunately, unless you are able to build an Igloo or Ice House on the "outside" of the FC, you are dealing another dangerous hand.
As much as we might like to believe that we have a nice "clean" place we are storing our food and munchies,......  The fridge is probably as contaminated as the average bathroom.  ( Just different germs, and greebies )
The ice you would introduce to your FC may work to some degree, but, I don't think it worth the risk, myself.  Just My opinion.
  Sorry,.....

jonny boy

so basically if it cant lower the temp. just say fuck and roll with it as it comes?? ill get a humidifier as soon as i can but that wont be for a couple days thanks to nomoredroughts i can make one fairly cheap hopefully it will raise the r/h but the temp i dont have any idea what i will do.. what about the perlite as i stated its about 3 inches deep should i put another half bag will that help some??

malabar

Jonny boy,
Sorry to see you are kind of stuck,......     And, I'm not even going to seek out your issue with "droughts".
But, IMO you shouldn't need to add anymore pearlite.  If you soaked it prior to placement, the most it might require would be a "kindly" mist now and again to kick it up to speed.
I again would suggest tapping off a 1/2 of those holes at the top, and see where that takes you.  I have never had holes in or near my lids,....  only near the "surface level" of growth.
  >>  Of course, you will have to be aware, that in raising the rh in your warn environment, is Probably going to raise your Overall Temps.
Out of curiosity,..  What's with the A/C?  If the FC is suffering, I'm sure you are too!
