yes you can use 1pint jars, they take longer to colonize but have to substrate in them don't know if your going to case or brf cakes but if cakes make sure to use wide mouth.... good luck

My first time is used brf cakes and with pint jars and it took incredibly long. If your like me and very excited and having a hard time being patience. I would try the half pint jars. GL

Half pint jars are your best bet for the PF-TEK IMO. They colonize quicker than larger jars, which reduces the possibility of contaminants taking hold.

I'm thinking of trying to knock up a huge pickle jar to see if it will work... if so I can crumble and case (since top is smaller than btm)... not sure about getting the center of the brf hot enough since the jar won't fit into my PC but I do have a large pot with lid... let you guys know how it turns out (just for shits and giggles)
