If somebody want to case mycelium cakes, he should add any powder which? contains high amounts of CaCO3 to reduce acidity if the soil is acid...

PH level range from 1 to 14.

1 means that soil is acid. 14 means? alkaline. And 7 means that soil is neutral.

the soil with 7 PH level could be used for casing mushrooms... if the PH level is 6, 5 or lower you should add substance which will raise the PH level and the soil will be neutral.

Substances in powder:

- limestone
- dolomite
- whiting (chalk)
- even ash

cased mycelium cake with potting soil (PH 7,2) and vermiculite.

ready to initiate pinning?

Yes, spray the stands down a bit with some water to knock them back, so they don't regrow the casing and then place it into the fruiting chamber.

Does it possible to innitiate second flush?

First flush gave 19 mushrooms... Normal?

some mushrooms are as twice smaller than the biggest ones, why does it happens?

Read What should I do after harvest?

Nature works this way. Not all apples on a tree are the same size, the same with mushrooms.

at the first experiment which pictures are above I used a potting soil which was boiled in microwave in order to sterilize it... somehow I got only one strain of fruits instead of two different strains, because there was two different strain cakes in different fruiting chambers with the same conditions.
this time I crumbled cakes into pieces and used the same potting soil just without boiling it. The result is that I have fruits of two strains.?

Apparently the process goes better with the second test...

Now I have the same problem with "redboy". This strain was cased at the same time like the others two strains which are above just the potting soil was boiled in microwave in order to sterilize it, and till now any pin appeared.

Conditions are the same... results different! ?

I'm thinking about putting more potting soil on the surface of the casing...
would it be a good idea or you have any other suggestions?
