hey, just wondering if there is a replacement for vermiculate? i've been told there is different soils but never any specific type. My friend said he has done the PF-Tek guide with Rice bubbles!!... my friend also pulls alot of shit from his arse! is this true? if not have you got any replacements for vermiculite that you know of?

I also would like to know some tips on getting spores of freshly picked (wild) shrooms?

Since rice bubbles is popped rice, it is probably true.

If you say so ;)

Read Can I substitute any ingredients in the PF recipe?

Cut the cup of an opened, clean, fresh mushroom as far to wards the top of the stalk as possible, and place on fresh clean typing paper and cover with a water glass. Remove the cap after 12-24 hours, now a nice dark print should be on the paper. Replace the glass and leave for another 24 in order for the print to dry. After 24 hours remove the glass, fold the paper  and store the print dry and cold.

I can only tell you what the people that replied in this thread said:
Could be, could not be, impossible to tell with so little data.
And, unless one is 100%, consider every mushroom as poisonous.

Hello,
may i ask what the mechanism is which you use for fruiting anno, as i had seen it in your gallery?  It looked like a dishwasher to me but i didn't think dish washers produced light or misting! :huh:For the verm/peatmoss casing, where would i get crushed oyster shells (fishstore, wal-mart etc.)?

Also where do you perchase your mushroom syringes/prints, because i am looking for Panaeolus cyanescens prints?

It's a shelf system from Ikea, it's called Antonius.

Crushed oyster shells are used as a food supplement for birds, so pethop would be my guess.

I don?t purchase them anymore.... when I did, I used http://www.thehawkseye.com, http://www.sporeworks.com and http://www.smartbotanics.nl .

Awsome, i am looking on the web on ikea.com and i see the caged bins but no shelf unit, from these can you spot it.?

http://www.ikea.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servl...=antonius+shelf

It does look neat, how does it work, is it annything like a terrarium?

The post at the Shroomery about Antonius really holds about every detail I encountered with Antonius.

Something similar, less expensive:

Hey Anno, do you sterilize the water of the cool mist humidifier or do you just add some bleach or iodine?
