I've been trying to colonize these jars for 4 1/2 weeks so far. Everything so far is perfect, everything is precisely as it should be when putting the ingredience in, etc. They are in their own bathroom by themselves everything tooken down and steralized they are at 84 degrees and have been since they started. They have no light at all in their room. We've not checked them often and when we have it was right after a shower. They are about halfway colonized but have been what seems like a stand still in the last couple weeks...any ideas on how to get them to fully colonize so we can see pinheads?

Perhaps they are getting too little gas exchange...Try to unscrew the lids a bit, but lease the fioil on.

Also, some light will help to trigger pinning.

It really does sound like your experianceing a little water settling down and then causing your jars to stall... Simply flip the jars to invert the settling water, and watch them complete teh colinization in a most rapid fashion.

I agree.

Also something to think about. If the air temps outside the jars are at 84 degrees, the temp in the jars could be much higher causing to stall as well.

One more thing to take into consideration (albeit out of ones control) is the quality
of the initial spores.
