Vermiculite problem
« on: February 22, 2012, 07:12:28 PM »

I just got my first spore syringes in the mail yesterday. I have begun collecting goodies for the pf tek, but I might have done something dumb. There was no vermiculite at the hardware store I went to, and the guy told me I could use Perlite instead. Also, even worse, I looked at the bag later and it says it is "enriched with Miracle Grow". How big of a fail is this?

you must find the fine vermiculite, perlite will not work.

you can usually get vermiculite in any gardening center. home depot or lowes always has it. but the larger and more coarse vermiculite is better imo. gives the mycelium room to move.
