Time periods
« on: November 11, 2007, 10:11:38 AM »

Once I have inoculated the jars (ball) and am using vermiculite, distilled water and rye flour. The colonization will take 14-28 days. I have to go out of town towards the end of the colonization period. What sort of maintenence needs to be performed on the jars during my 10 day period of being gone? To say that a different way. I will inoculate on November 15th, I will need to leave December the 15-17th and be back on the 26th or 27th. If the jars take 28 days to colonize then I will have 6-10 jars colonized and not be here to take care of them. Is there something I can do that will arrest their development? Or do I need to worry about it and just let them grow.

After they are fully colonized, you can put them in the fridge for a few weeks, no problem.
