I use Rye or Wheat.

"i always makemush with brf cake"

That means you have to much water in the mixture or got water under the foil during pastuerizing.

Grains are better for colonization times and show results faster than BRF. :)

I think he meant make mushrooms.....like saying he's only done the PF Tek

In place of rye you can also use mais or pasta ^_^

Thanks Trips,
After reading it again I can see that.

Mais is corn and corn is not ideal for mycellium growth, it lacks vital nutrients and colonizes slower from my expeirence.

The page was an example of people using pasta as substrate, make a search on the shroomery, you'll find it as well.

Using cigarette filters you would not be able to reach the correct tightness, look for an old coushion(un vecchio cuscino lo trovi)

thanks tenaglia
Woooooow substrate with pasta??? intersting.....i dont understand i think u was joking with me...
I just killed with knife my pillow.....and i found polyphil...100% polyester...thnak u tenaglia...tonight i start the "mistycal " preparation.... ^_^

You should use a kind of pasta wich allowes good air circulation, spaghetti will result as a mess, think about something like pipe or fusilli. You should not shake the yars, wait till mycelium has run everywhere, if you have made your own spore prints you will have plenty of inoculum to make a sporeshower to your jars; 3-5 days later you'll have them 100% colonized

GiU

But i put the pasta in the jar and after water..after i coock in the pressure coocker...i continue like the wholegrain tek?
but the coocking time of pasta is different from grain.....10 min are enough...
and so are 10 min of sterilization  enough??

you cook pasta as you shall do for eating, after that you put it in the jarst and pc them.
