hi,
i am new at growing shrooms and this will be my first try.
I have made a box where i want to grow them in, only i think there will be tomuch light.
What do you think? and how can i possible solve it?

I have edit the post and add a picture.
I think this is way to much light for them, dont you think?
its a TL tube of 18 watt.

Warcore,
Actually mycellium that is being incubated doesn't need any light at all. When it gets to the fruiting stage a lot of people will have 12 hours light and 12 hours dark. When you get to the fruiting stage you can tape a black garbage bag around the sides of your fc so that light will enter from the top. This way you will have a more upright crop. For an incubator the tub in tub often works best for smaller grows there are many teks online. Hope this helps.

Sorry man but I see some flaws in your design.

1.The biggest flaw is that it's wood. Water + Wood = mold and rotting wood.
Even if you line it with visqueen the RH will be constant 92 - 100% and will seep in between the visqueen and wood.

2. How are you gonna protect the electric light from the moisture?Don't think you need a explanation of what water and electricity can do when they are mixed  ^_^

3.Is that a 4ft. ballast?
The dimensions of your design look to be 4ft long x 2ft wide x 6 inches deep.
If so,that's a tad bit of perlite.

Not busting on the design.
It is possible to use it with some modifactions made to the design.
But there is much cheaper, less bulkier and easier maintainable FC's out there.
Keep it simple.  -_-
To answer you light question, get a lower wattage tube, but it's not a issue imo.
You only need to give them 4 - 7 hrs of light.
And ambient sunlight from a bedroom window works perfectly ;)

Mushrooms don't grow like plants.
Honestly,it looks more like a real good starter setup for herb
Btw,descent woodworking you did there.

I agree with ya baph. Having experience with wood that is. I have a cabinet I bought from Lowe's that is about 6' tall 4' wide and 2' deep. Worked excellent for plants but would definitely warp at best with that much humidity. I am a newbee at growing so I will be using large plastic containers with perlite for FC.

Thanks for the reactions.
This is the case where the shrooms will fruit.
I have them in Filter bags, and there will be no moistere close to the light.
i only thought this is to much light for them. i will keep this updated on how this proceeds.
