lc question

I have read an lc tek that says use an old syringe (plunger removed) stuffed with polyfil for gas exchange.
First is gas exchange needed
Second how do you guys do it?

Yes u need gas exchange and there's plenty of ways to do it.
The best way IMO is to make a LC lid for jars with a "breath" hole covered with microtape and a inucualtion hole made from RTV silicone sealant (red 1 from the automotive sections).
There are PLENTY of teks to use in the shroomery, i just tried the baby bottle tek but will continue to do the LC lids. The baby bottle tek worked fine tho http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/7320513/an/0/page/0  GL!

Oh yea BTW, in that baby bottle tek, for gas exchange, i was told that its the empty space.  u cant fill it all the way with the liquid.  Therefore, the culture may stop growing when it runs out of air or whatever
