Title: Home-ground BRF
Post by: pikzilla on July 11, 2010, 12:00:48 PM
Hiya. I decided to grind my own BRF in a food processor, and was wondering about how far I should grind it. Is it acceptable if there are still small particles of grain, or should it be perfectly smooth? Thanks!

Not sure man.. but I assume the finer the better. The smaller the grains the easier I would think the mycelium can utilize it. Hope you can get a proffesional to chime in.

Actually it's better if it's not totally powder but a mix somewhere in between medium to fine. the mycelium likes the fractal like structure of that kind of substrate. The verm helps with that too.
