Title: Rookie question
Post by: alejio on April 12, 2007, 02:16:16 PM
Ya, I am a newb.  I am preparing my PF TEK enclosure, and am concerned about humidity, as it is quite dry in this part of the States.  It is a rather small rubbermaid container, which I would guess could hold 3 half pint jars worth of substrate/mycellium.  I have an air pump hooked up to a long airstone, and plan will be (obviously) covering with perlite and water, when it is ready.  My question is, how should I control the humidity, will the air coming through the water be sufficient, or should I start thinking of another way to bring it up.  Should make it into a dual chambered setup?  I will not be ready to birth the jars for awhile, but I want to get everything prepared ahead of time.

Thanks

I would suggests placing some wet vermiculite or  perlite at the bottom of the container, even when you provide moist air exchange with an air pump.
