Title: temperature question
Post by: anti-babylon on November 18, 2010, 02:10:46 AM
Hi to all !

iv been searching on the site but im not lucky,

i have my jars inoculated and sitting in a polyester box that i have put on the radiator in my room , the problem is that i have notice now after 4 days from inoculation that at night the radiator is going off, becouse the heating is not mine but central located for all the condominians (if i say it right)
so the temperature inside the box at night is going down to 26° degree celsius instead of the normal 30° that i have in the day.

is this oscillating temperature gonna cause me some problem or some slowing down process in colonizing the jar?

thank you very much so helpfull

30 is too hot for incubation. You'll be better off with temps closer to 25...

I can not speak to how strong they are, but they were some of the easiest to colonize the jars by far in my experience.  Good luck

Myc will colonize faster in warmer temps, but will do just fine at 22- 26c.. Contams thrive in warmer conditions so the hotter it is, the more risk you have of running into problems..

Good luck with the grow man. If this helps at all, during my colonization period my temperatures got all the way down to 20 at night and the jars still colonized completely, with no mold, in 25 days.

So I wouldn't worry about 26 being too low! :)
