Yes as a matter of fact I bought two syringes of blue meenie from this person. I just recieved them in the mail a few days ago and got around to making the cakes yesterday. I used proper sterile teks so It should start to grow some mycelium soon. I will let you know if tthe cakes colonize and wether it is worth your money to buy from him.

Cultivation / Vermiculit in Austria

Hello, ok what you need to do is. I do not know what it would be called in your country but go to your closest "Greenhouse" or a gardening store. If you have a store like that it will have some. The reason the guy may not have known what you were talking about is you might have mis-pronounced the word. It is tricky. "Ver-mick-you-light"

PF - Tek / substrate

First off all dude you need to buy the syringe from a store online. Most places dont sell spores in person. Second Calfornia has a ban against spores so, unfortunetly no online store would sell to you anyways. Also dont try to use a syringe you have for your dog. Im afraid your out of luck living in california. Your best bet is to drive to a different state and pick some up there if you are depserate for spores. I dont think your gonna be growing mushrooms anytime soon, none-the-less tommorow.

PF - Tek / substrate

I can promise you that buying the substrate yourself will save you a lot of money. FOr the amount you would spend to buy one jar with steralized substrate you could fill and sterilize 5 or 6 jars. SO especially if you are planning on making many jars then you will save a lot of money on substrate. Just go to the closest greenhouse in your area and pick up a big bag of vermiculite for 5 dollars, and a small bag of perlite for like 3 dollars. And for the rice your might even have some in your house already, if not go to your closest grocery store. Total your gonna prolly spend 20 dollars total for enough substrate to grow a huge piece of mushroom patch. You would most likely spend nearly 50 dollars buying that many pre-steralized jars online.

I am wondering if there is any distinct smell that comes from the mushrooms while they are in the fruiting chamber growing. If so does the potency of the smell depend on the amount you are growing?

PF - Tek / One important question i have

I am wondering. When the cakes are ready to birth. Wether you crumble it or just plop it into a tray I am wondering if you need to point the cake in a certain direction to allow the pins to grow upwards. I am wondering because If you crumble how do you know what direction the pins will grow in.

Cultivation / Is cake neccesary?

Just wondering if you have to make cakes out of the rice and vermiculite and then pressure cook it and all that. Or is it possible to grow them just by putting a BRF and Vericulite mix into a container and then injecting the spores into it.

What is the difference between a spore print and syringe. What do you do with a print and what do you do with a syringe? Why is a print so much more exspensive than a syringe.
