Title: Rice Flour?
Post by: Jrice on September 22, 2009, 08:12:09 PM
just a quick question..there are no stores located near me that sell BRF.  i read i can buy some brown rice and grind it up.  i did come across Rice Flour That is Gluten free from the grocery store accross the way.  does anyone know if that would work, is there that much differance in brown rice flour to just rice flour?

I suspect there are more nutes in the BRF. BRF cakes are on the thin side of nutes anyway I wouldn't want to deprive the shrooms of any more. Of all your suggestions I would say buy the brown rice and grind. It can take a awhile, use a strainer to sift the flour from the rice kernels as you go. good luck.

BRF is naturally gluten free. It's a sales point for health conscious, or people w/ food allergies. Whatever route you go, make sure it's brown rice.
