from what I read of it it is a wood loving speicies.
It certainly looks like a interesting strain none the less,
Keep us posted on your progress

here is the starts of a 3rd flush on some Chitwans.

Is there a reason these are smaller than others I have seen?

substrate is hydrated enough.Even the first 2 flushes were of same size
caps at their largest has only been 2 inches wide
stems at the most 2-3 inches.
Is this normal for this strain?
I really don't care as they have become my favorite strain at the moment.
But I just wanted to share this with the community.

"for tripping is it true that the caps give the visual and head effects, and stems for the body high?"

I've read that post at shroomery and have read other reports and papers and some say there is a differance and some say they are equal to potency.
I think it is strain dependent.I have ate the caps and/or just the stems and I never noticed a differance.
Thats just my expeirence :)

They are a sponsor at the shroomery but it seems there has been a few waiting also.
I have not dealt with them so I can't really answer your question.
If anyone I'd deal with, it would be http://www.ralphstersspores.com/
I don't have any syringes but I do have a few prints.
I'd be happy to send you one as long as you don't live in California,Georgia,Idaho,or any country that has a spore law.
3 weeks seems like a long time for a order but they could be swamped.

Cultivation / Some PR Pics
May 05, 2007, 07:13:21 AM
Here is a few pics of some PR's.
Enjoy All.

That pretty cluster weighted in at 74 grams

There is a tray on it's 3rd flush

There is another lovely cluster that came in at a nice 108 grams

There they are layed out on a piece of printing paper.

When they first started out I was very dissapointed in the size of the fruits I was getting.
So I took distilled water and poured into the trays and let them set for 6 hrs. and then drained them,
And the fruits took off and double and tripled in size.

Substrate : Wheat Berries
Casing : 60/40 Verm/Coir
Colonization Temps : 68-74 degrees
Incubation Temps : 68-74 dgerees
Fruiting Temps : 68-76 degrees

sometimes it can take 10-14 days to see growth.
I have had jars that took 2 weeks at 68-74 to see mycelial growth.
Just be pateint.
Good Luck,

April 30, 2007, 04:23:35 AM
its ok to let temps flucuate a bit.
If you have a thermometer in you fc then just let it be the way it is.
if you go above 85 then you are getting to high.
70-80 is not a problem.

"I have been using hot paper towels to try and keep the humidity changing them when i change the air."
Hot steam of any kind is a breeding ground for contams.
thats a bad idea bro.
you should get perlite today if you can,and get rid of the "hot" paper towel idea, you are increasing your chances of contam 10 fold.
If you have a Kaz Impaler cool mist humidifier that will be your best bet.
But I would get the perlite today if at all possible.
Good Luck.

Not sure if you are casing your cakes or not,but either way dunking IME, is vital to rehydrating the substrate, and can cause subsequent flushes to be increased in size.
If you do not case your cakes put them in a tray of some kind put your cake in the tray with distilled water and keep the cake submerged for no more than 24hrs.
If you are casing your cakes, put the tray inside a bigger tray and fill with distilled water and submerge  for no more than 24hrs.
I also do a in-tray rehydration which IMO is much easier to do,but this will only work for cased cakes and cased grains.
All that requires is once you have done your 1st harvest fill your tray with distilled water and let the water sit in the tray in your FC for about 6-8 hrs then drain the tray out.
If you are using 2 quart aluminum trays the Myc for some reason likes to eat the aluminum(I have no answer for why) and a in-tray rehydration will still work but may not be as effective but I have done it with the trays like that as well and it will hold water long enough to rehydrate the substrate.
Cakes or cased trays love to float so you will have to have some kind of weight to hold them under the water.
Hope that helps PW

They may be smaller than the norm, but I had my first try at these wonderful pieces of art,and all I can say is WOW!!!
not only are they pictures of beauty upon growing, but the effects are the best I think I may have ever had.
Tonite my wife and I are going camping and I plan on taking 2-2.5 grams, my wife is going to do .5-1.5 grams(ya she's a bit of a light weight) of this truly wonderful mushroom.
They seem to just keep fruiting, unlike others I have grown before that take a few days between flushes.
The syringe I accuired is around 4-6 years old.
They first started out as really small fruits and within 1 week I did a "in tray" rehydration and they have almost tripled in size.
Here is some that should be ready in a couple days.

And here is the very first fruits that came up that were the small ones, minus 1.5 grams I ate a few nights ago.that bag still weighs around 5 grams.

Anno, I would love all the info you can hash up or share on this really awesome strain if you would please.I read the section at shroomery you made with the help of Baestal (hope I spelled his name right).
I love how the body load is minimal and how its more visual than any other I have tried. and how it's not a mental mind fuck as some can be,not that I don't mind a mental fuck once in awhile  -_-
It was one of the most enjoyable journeys I have had.
I have come to think this is my favorite strain.  -_- -_-
Cheers all,

Cultivation / Re: Blueing
April 21, 2007, 03:38:49 AM
"does blueing mean a lack of oxygen?"

No,the Myc turning blue is bruising, and some Myc just has a blue tinge to it.
you want your verm to be at "feild capacity",which means that when you squeeze it (not hard) you should have a few drops drop from your hand.
hope that helps.

Cultivation / Somewhat of a Dunking question
April 10, 2007, 04:06:15 PM
hows it goin all,I havent been on much lately,But I have ran into something I think I should ask advice for.
O.K,here is the deal,
I have some PR's that just won't stop fruiting.
The fruits have been small since they have began, and I mean small something like 5-10 grams wet.
The question I have is,
Is it ok to dunk a tray that still has primodia,or Hyphal knots?
Or will this hurt the new fruits?

"I was just a bit worried that I only had one innoculation point."

If the Myc colonized 100% then you are fine.

I don't do pf tek but, I'd go out on a limb and say keep misting until you see Hyphal knots once you see Hyphal knots let off of the misting until you have pins.
Then resume misting.Remember not to mist the cakes directly :)

You should probably up your FAE to around 4-5 times a day.

hope that helps :)

PF - Tek / Re: splitting and hollow stems?
March 26, 2007, 06:06:20 AM
To me twisting is a cool thing for some strange reason.
I'd have to say that some of them just like to do it,
also if you rotate your trays or cakes around in your FC they will have a tendency to twist also. -_-
I have had splitting caps as well as stems.
I would have to attribute splitting of stems and or caps to a few things.

1. Vigorous growth.
2. RH issues, which may not always be the case. But extremes in RH drop and raise can attribute to splitting.
3. Mold and or Bacteria on the fruit.

I've noticed that hollow stems can be caused by No.2 in the list above, along with many other factors, such as "Luck of the draw" due to multispore innoculation.
I have had Cambo's that have had hollow stems and some that have had solid stems all in the same tray, which I have no explanation for
A more expeirenced grower may be able to be more detailed in explaining this interesting phenomenon.
Hope that helps P.W

I bumped up the rh to where im around 95% at all times.
This morning they looked alot more moist Than the pic I took
and I started misting lightly after pinset, mainly on the sides of my FC.
Roughly 6 days ago.
Could the possiblility of 2 year old spores or poor sub-strain have any cause for this?
to be on the safe side I will pull them.
Also I have 3 trays of Cambo's fruiting with them as well.
So I'm assuming conditions are ok.
None of the Cambo's have started to show this discoloration, and 2 of the trays are on 2nd flush and the other is on it's 3rd.
PR is a very interesting strain!
I have also noticed that some of them(only a few in the other tray) are growing Tuborous (I hope i typed that right).
What would you suggest in a situation like this?
If you need growing specifics I will gladly add them.

*bump*
Sry I hope I didnt cross bounderies by bumping this to the top.
I still have them in my tray and am trying to decide if I shared grab them or not.
As of today they almost look like they have aborted,i.e not much growth in a couple days.
but I am still in need of advice.
Thanks.
