You should use a kind of pasta wich allowes good air circulation, spaghetti will result as a mess, think about something like pipe or fusilli. You should not shake the yars, wait till mycelium has run everywhere, if you have made your own spore prints you will have plenty of inoculum to make a sporeshower to your jars; 3-5 days later you'll have them 100% colonized

Cultivation / Re: Casing Question...
May 13, 2008, 08:36:39 AM
if your casing mix has the correct moisture level, you don't need to spray it, use your eye to understand when needed.

As a rule you should put the casing to fruit when it's 20% colonized

Scratching would retard pinning process, don't do that

Mhm..i cant open the page...grrr
Why i cannot use? is possible make the gas exchange of my jar in differet way?
Thank u

The page was an example of people using pasta as substrate, make a search on the shroomery, you'll find it as well.

Using cigarette filters you would not be able to reach the correct tightness, look for an old coushion(un vecchio cuscino lo trovi)

I think it will dry out too fast, use your coarse vermiculite it's better than coco coir

Cultivation / still on time to make a new bed?
April 16, 2008, 07:20:24 AM
Is it a little late to start a new bed outside if I want it to fruit this year?

should I keep de amount fresh chips low in order to colonize faster?

At which rate shall I spawn? Stamets says 1:5, mushmush 1:20

Thank you all
