PF - Tek / I am at a loss...
May 13, 2009, 08:55:52 AM
So I have tried everything.. The humidity is 99%, temp is steady at 75 , there is adequate sunlight... Nothing has worked! My cakes WON'T pin.. They just keep growing more and more mycelium. It has been 2 weeks now.. I have no idea what I have done wrong or what I'm not doing right.. Any suggestions?

PF - Tek / uugghhh... frustrated!
May 07, 2009, 10:46:23 AM
So as you all know I gave my girls to my cousin to keep an eye on for about a week and a half or so. Well I got them back last night and its a disaster to say the least. There are "nubs" or hard bubble looking things all over it but they are like DARK green/ black. The cakes were bruised when I gave them to her but now they are almost completely bruised all over. I did the q-tip test and I am not sure if I rubbed too hard but the q-tip had a slightly greenish tint after I rubbed it. But the "bruising" (what I am afraid could be mold) isn't furry or anything.it looks like every picture of bruising I have seen. I just wondered if you rub it too hard that some of the bruised matter will come off on the q-tip. Also the cakes were DRY so I am re-dunking them. Its been 3 weeks in the FC and they haven't even pinned yet. Do I wait it out and keep them in the FC or just throw them out? Also I cut into one to see if the bruising was just on the outside or if it was in the cake but the inside it perfectly fine.. No discoloration at all. And once again I am having trouble keeping the humidity up.. I can't find a good gauge to save my life. They are all shitty and keep crapping out on me.. Any brand suggestions? Please help guys.. Thanks

PF - Tek / ISSUES!!!
April 28, 2009, 06:04:28 PM

So, due to some very bad circumstances, I had to move my girls over to my cousins place. Well she lives in a basement and it is very cold. Since Saturday they have been over there and the temp was all over the place. I had 2 hum/temp gauges shit out on me so as far as what the rh and temp have been, I am clueless.. All I know is, is that after a week in the FC, I have no pinning at all...There is a new layer of mycelium on the layer of verm and thats it..What do I do?!? I am kinda freaking out right now..Help!!

Thank you

PF - Tek / Heat?!

What is an easy way to get the temp up in your FC? I have tried a few different things and I only get temporary results.. I have 99% RH and the temp is at 69.7. I would like it to be about 75. Oh and if possible,  cheap suggestions :)

PF - Tek / About to birth my girls :)
April 21, 2009, 05:56:48 PM

So my cakes are a few days from being ready to be birthed. I have heard and read SO many different ways to do this. I want to do the dunk and roll method. So my question is this: Do I soak the cake right after I birth it? If so I know it is for roughly 12-24 hours. What kindof water? I have heard that tap is fine and then others say distilled water and others say spring water. (please make up your minds!! :) Then I roll it in fine verm and then put in the FC.

What is the best and most effective/efficient way to do this?

Thanks
