I understand that but what if I cant get to them after a week or even later , can  I put them to dry or will they go bad? Will it be too late to save em after that week?

Sorry to hear you have to be the one, seems like it has to be someone.

The local garden shop close to home has a shit load of vermiculite 2 months ago. I guess I better check in and stock up if they still have it. They had 10 qt bags and 20 lb bags.

At the time they said there was no problem getting it and that it didn't contain the asbestos. I will ask again to be sure.

Perlite is at Home Depot or Lowe's Hardware stores for 8 qt bag.Scotts and Miracle Grow brands. Haven't checked ACE store.

Somewhere in the TEks there were links to obtaining either of them?

Mabey look up their website or keyword in Google whatever your looking for. Should get results there.

Good luck is all I can offer at the time.

How bout if and when I succeed with "fruits" (and all jars aren't ready a the same time) and I need to pick some? will I need to let the fruit dryer(without heat) run 24/7 and just keep adding and taking as they dry?

What if I bag some in the fridge hoping to munch on a weekend and it doesn't come together, will they rott before the dryer can dry them?

I'm gonnna be needin some tips for a FC. I'm gonna build a fair sized one of wood and plastic sheeting cuz all jars won't be ready at the same time, plus I have an another batch of ten jars that will follow soon after the first batch.

Someone mentioned a type of humdifier that you run into the FC assisted by a aquarium pump and bubblers (in a box using coffee filters),which I do have.

what else?

what about after picking the fruit by pinching or cutting? doesn't the remaining of the stipe go rotten?

What about crumbling the cake to harvest the bunch as nature has it, then what/, using the crumble to case formore flush?

I dunno, mabey Im getting to far ahead of myself, but I need to flourish as best whitout getting to anxious so as to ruin the experience.

cool, thanx.

I was beginning to worry bout how white the perlite is  and all I see in pics you guys send who know what the hell you are doing (lucky duckies) is dark brown bedding with white speckels. Now if I thought I could get away with casing I would probably try it but being my first shot at this I am feeling like I need to stick to the book to succeed.

I'll read up on it but in the meantime if Ya'all think I need to go PF all the way tell me. I'm really no dummy so, but, and, I go beyond limits at times for experimental satisfaction (like jumping out of perfectly good operating airplanes, say halleluja)

So if ya say it is easier and more fruitful to case let me know cuz I want this to work. It's too fascinating to have any problem now.

Thanx dudes.
and yes all I have at this point is the tubs(10 gallon) using aquarium heater. I have two and I could use em both for FC's with glass or plexi tops whichever is better? C'mon back now y'hear.

so lots of humidity and no to soupy moisture, right? Then the perfect temp too I spose.

does the amount of innoculate determine the quantity? For instance: if I use less innoc per jar than if I would have used more per jar would the flushes be greater, would the size of the fruit be bigger/smaller etc. considering the jars fully colonized either way.

so the bags are a good thing? I might want to go that route as my time is of usually of proprietary essence constantly. wow, how time does fly.

who is credible for buying bags? please.

Temps are similar to what you are geting, it sounds like. It is warming up nicely last couple of days now so I think we are on the way to some good warm temps.

Uhh, you say you had a greeinsh batch and you still got a couple of flushes in the out of doors? And what, you ate them and lived? or just letting me know how hearty the little critters are?

Oh, and , those Chitwans look pretty cool, tasty too, how old are they in that third flush? good job.

how many equal 1.5 gm? how many fresh ones would it take for a good time compared to a 1/8 oz. evening.

Ok, Cool.

I just want them good and right, like grow nice, and potent also. I that possible? jars are dooing fine. still need to build the FC, my own ideas compared to all this info's from ya'all and the TEK's etc.

Weather and temps here aren't stable yet(cools down too much in the eve's) so I can't depend on it. Will need artificial source via: heat pad or the incubation method, which sounds the best so far, to me.

How bout ya'all?

does the perlite provide any nutrition or anything other than humidity? If not I think I will try plain water in the bottom of the FC and wire mesh above the water, then what?, cover with glass top and monitor temp (@70-72) and humidity (?)

Cultivation / Upside Down Myc.
May 30, 2007, 07:57:08 PM
Hay all,

is there any reason or is it necessary to turn the jars upside down no fanning during colonization correct?

Cakes just sit in the jars until fully colonized; top, sides, bottom too, with the lids and alum tops on tight without breathing until birth which is when pins first appear?

also, could I use the incubator to keep the temp controlled for fruiting the cakes with perlite and the wire mesh.

Hi all,

is there really very much difference in the highs from one strain to another? I mean if one person grew different strains using the same technique as best possible and processed them the same way, then, tested one against another at the same dose is there really much difference.

For instance: PF Classic, Chitwan, Taiwain, etc.

Detail, friends,

thanx for the reply, warrior dude.
So the water idea isn't good? dont you have to keep adding water to the paper towel whereas an inch or two of water at the bottom (with the cakes above on wire mesh) would seem to last a long time.

Anyone else?

ANNO, U out there?

BAPH???
