Title: How to Grow Morel Mushrooms?
Post by: Sophia Williams on September 10, 2012, 12:52:45 AM
Choose a location that is on a north facing slope. Morels found in the wild are almost always found near oak trees facing the north. Prepare a bed by laying a thick layer of moist oak chips, mulch or shavings. The bed should be no more than 4 x 8 feet as anything larger is hard to maintain. Sprinkle the spawn or culture over the moist bed. Cover the bed with another 3 to 4 inches of moist oak material. Water the mushroom patch when it feels dry. The simplest method of testing this is to poke a finger as deep as possible into the bed. If the lower sections are overly dry, water the bed until the section feels moist to the touch.
