 I was just at the grocery store and your pics inspired me to buy a couple of aluminum pans with fitting plastic lids. I'm about 5 months behind you on the learning curve. great flush...
Yummy!
Nice casings you got going there.
Pretty soon you'll see a forest in your FC. ;)
Baph

PW
Can you say mon tub????????
IMO casing = waste of time!!! ( dont blast me pw and baph it is my opinion)
Nice work Fatt those look great!!!
can you say a fuckup or contam = big waste of resources (KAZAM!)"not shaq"
PW
try one for me PW..... knock on wood..... I am on my 5 th one with no contams yet and mad yields!!!!
ok back to my casing, how the fuck do you clean the casing material off the base of fruit when you pick.. i just pulled my 1st flush...200grams fresh. but cleaning casing off is a bitch. can i rinse them in water or should dry 1st then clean.
Wash in warm running water. If you need to do more than rinse, get a soft toothbrush and gently brush the debris away. If you let them dry the crap will dry too... 200 grams = well done.
I usally wait for them to dry then all the dirt crumbles off with ease.
PW
ok thanks, shit i try clean in water and it seems like to much work. all tho this is the 1st time i had so many at once...lol
Wait till they dry like PW has stated.
Your second and third flushes could yield 300 - 500 grams wet ;)
Baph
take a look ^_^ -_-

i did it 1/2 and 1/2.. rinsed 1/2 and 1/2 to dry as is...
ok now i filled in the holes. sprayed with water, back in F.C... at this point RH should be ?????? 90 or 95+
oh yummy, yummy, yummmy .... what time is dinner??????
as soon as they dry there going on a pb&b sandwitch. lol ^_^
when I'll have more cakes under the belt I'll try the casings, nice one you have. Great weekend in perspective!
mmm toaster stroodles, congrats! and enjoy.
PW
pb&b ... ohhhhhh yeeeeahhhh!!!!
"ok now i filled in the holes. sprayed with water, back in F.C... at this point RH should be 90 or 95+"
95 and up.
If water starts to pool on the casings your RH is to high.
Baph
cool thanks baph, that what i thought...
Gorgeous casings, superb first run! ^_^
Oh dang Fattrout I diddn't notice those were your's, GOOD WORK! youve come a looong way but theres still much road to travel
PW
thank you PW, since those two i have done a few more. i am learning a lot from you guys. i know i have a long way to go. so i'm getting ready to move on to grains, and i will start a new thread on that.
Yeah me too~! Learning that is .. I copied you fattrout on lots of things, plus reading all the posts. When people want to help with good advice and I understand it I try it out myself. I am doing the caseings too .. but for me it seems to be a lot more than I need. I may not do them very often but I really like this alot.
what mix did you use fattrout? i am now moving to casings.my cakes rocked thanks to u guys, did u find a certen tek to follow?
Fattrout is out of town ... he will get back to you when he is done....
Follow the one on the site a couple times and then take it from there.
PW
PW sad it. the only thing i did diffrent is i crumbled the cakes. read this tek too..http://www.shroomery.org/50/Casing-101
Its a cased substrate, not casing. Casing is the act of applyhing a casing layer.
Also, that looks like coir, which would have been better used as a bulk susbtrate, and just fruit incaused. Unless that is what you did, spawn to coir which would then just be a bulk substrate;
Great work nonetheless. those look good!
also, you cant have to much rh. 99-100% is deal, and you cant get higher than 100% anyway
Hey Trout...how many cakes is that in there? Did you crumble them or just put them in whole?
yooo crazyd, i crumbled 2 cakes in the pan. about a 1/2 inch of casing mix on top...
I just used the same method that fattrout has described and can say I am very happy with the results. I harvested 110 grams (wet) on my first flush. Also there were almost no aborts at all. I started three more loaf pans yesterday and am looking forward to similar results.
Hey MT post some pics. -_-
Sorry to say that I do not have the capability to post pics.
