The lid might be too short to fruit shrooms in any case. I just use a giant wooden spread with a mister above my setup. (like the ones you see watering your veggies at the grocery store) PICS SOON
Ok, so it's not really a fruiting "chamber" of sorts but it sure as hell works for bulk grows.

It sounds to me that if there is water splashing up over the ars that you may have filled the water level too high in your pot. Generally the water level is supposed to be about an inch high when all of the jars are in the pot. I have never heard of rocks being put in the bottom of the pot but I guess I don't see how that wouldn't work. Wait a couple of days before you inoculate the jars so you can see if there are any flaws in your sterilization process. Check for mold after a couple of days, if yer clean, go ahead and shoot up your jars.

"yea, so when i bought my last batch of mushrooms, i wasnt as well read as i should have been.  they were dried and i tried to get spores out of them. it didnt work. so i just put the mushrooms in the substrate. Then i learned about the agar method. i desparetly took out the shrooms 4-5 days after i put them in the jar. i put them on the agar plate and tried to culture them. Then i took the stuff that i cultureed and got in to a syringe and so on...."

Silly goose, you didn't do anything right.... What's the purpose of buying substrate materials, agar and agar plates, and syringes if you aren't going to do it right? For some reason I think you pulled that paragraph out of your kiester .......

Rye seed jars are the easiest way for grain to grain transfers of mycelia to be done, as far as I know. This is also probably your best bet for starting a multiplication system for a constant supply of mycelia as well.

There are even terrific videos in this site's main page that can probably help you, if I'm not mistaken they show an alternative method to sterilization with a pressure cooker. Good luck.

My friend, read Cannabible dos, I think it's the red one. The chapter about "the enemy tolerance" setting in, switch up your smoke, it works for me. Then again, I guess all people react differently.

Yes I am aware that they're completely legal so I can buy them at one of many ethnobotanical sellers online, and that the content of the alkaloids have chemicals that destroy livers in a dose or two and that the experience sucks anyways..... I am not trying to grow it for the high. Just for the experience mostly. And because it's the fairy tail toadstool haha....  If I get it right then I'll be happy....

Thank you, I would appreciate that  ^_^

Hah, well not exactly  just be able to grow them where I want. I don't have all of the things I would need to grow them indoors. But perhaps there is a way to convince the ones I find at the golf course to make a home under the spruce tree in my yard...

Cultivation / Tek for Amanita and it's strains...
April 14, 2009, 06:28:24 PM
There was a small group of Japanese scientists that were able to duplicate the ideal circumstances to domestically grow a flush of Amanita Muscaria. Amazingly enough, it included an indoor grown spruce tree and northwestern U.S. "fall like" conditions. Maybe it's only a curiosity of mine, but I am looking to grow this as well. Can anyone point me in the right direction as far as cultivation goes? I have a feeling this is going to be a slightly more challenging task to find information on this.

No sir, "pre-answering an FAQ" was what I said, not answering an asked question.

You'd think, this far into the grow process, past the worry of contaminates and all that jazz, air for your shrooms would be the least of your problems. If your cake is fully colonized, I'm pretty sure to a degree it can fight off it's own invaders. OPEN THE LID......

And to pre-answer this FAQ, no you cannot eat the same amount of a different strain and expect different results unless this other strain contains higher alkaloidal content then the one you are ingesting. This is because all of the psilocybe strains contain the same chemical compounds that make you "trip" but in different ratios. This is unlike marijuana, which can be smoked or ingested, and when you gain tolerance can be replaced by another strain to experience full effects again. Unfortunately for the shroomers, your only option is to wait and or take a higher quantity.

I have heard of "poor man's incubators" being made out of foam coolers and heating pads with a sheet between the jars and pad. I don't necessarily agree with the method but in conditions of low funding you will be surprised how ingenious some people can be when they want their project to succeed. I have had some pretty unconventional setups in my time growing.

Indoor growing is the only available option I have right now. I haven't even ordered the spores for this project yet, I like to thoroughly research the strains and processes of growing before wasting 20+ dollars on spores I'm not sure I am able to properly grow. I found a thing or two on Shroomery. I guess to contradict my previous statement, trial and error is one of the best ways to learn how to do something, I may have no choice but to experiment with a few of the teks out there over a couple of bought syringes. Special thanks to PW for narrowing down my search.
