PF - Tek / A few ?'s that I have

When the cakes are blueing do to humidity what would be good, raising the humidity or lowering it?  Because on 1 of my cakes they had stopped growing as pins and havn't been growing more, is there a way to help them or would i have to do something with humidity and pull those out to start new pins?  Would i have to dunk and do pins over again?  Also when misting, do i have to mist and let the cakes catch some tiny droplets on them or just have the terrarium misted?

Yes and maybe while answering K2OA2's quetions i have a few of my own! When doing a Grain tek how do you get the colonized subtrate out of those mason jars with the sholders?  Also when casing in the tin foil cases, what would i cover the top of it with?  Would a mushroom with a split in the top of the cap matter if wanting to clone it?  Also are the mushrooms suppose to be shedding layers of mushroom skin under the beggining of the cap on the stem to create a cap...i have never seen this happen and was wondering if anyone was familiar with this?

I am heading on, past the great pf and on to the popcorn tek.  Knowing that i have no clue on where to get this white popcorn, i was figuring i'd ask and see if i could use just regular yellow cernals for this tek?  I also can not find where to get crushed oyster shells for the peatmoss/verm casing, would this be a problem or is the oyster shells optional?  When these jars i am preparing to do have fully colonized i was going to use some in bulk growing with a peat/verm mix, i am just wondering if standard Psylocybe Cubensis would grow large flushes and that if the bulk container i am using is to big for a terrarium but had a lid i was thinking on using it itself as a terraium by misting, would this be possible?

Thats brut, was it just the matter of time you left them for?  Your using a grain cultivation tek i assume, how many got the mildew?  Well you always have the next procedure coming so hopefully your next vacation won't interupt!  Also did the one of your casings appear fine or just a small flush scattered, post some pictures, if you can!
Take it easy.

PF - Tek / vermiculite replacement?
April 23, 2004, 03:51:51 PM
Hello,
may i ask what the mechanism is which you use for fruiting anno, as i had seen it in your gallery?  It looked like a dishwasher to me but i didn't think dish washers produced light or misting! :huh:For the verm/peatmoss casing, where would i get crushed oyster shells (fishstore, wal-mart etc.)?

Also where do you perchase your mushroom syringes/prints, because i am looking for Panaeolus cyanescens prints?

PF - Tek / once inoculation's done...

Maybe even not sealing it as tight as possible would help air exchange when having tape cover the holes, but this could maybe bring contaminations to form easier, i would not know.  There could be other solutions, maybe on my next batch i will test this.

Also where would i be able to find Organic Rye Grains?

Yes, but in the fanaticus article they use tape only and no tinfoil.  Air is everywhere, you can't escape it, unless these jars have some kind of super resistant to air seals, and not even zip lock bags can stop air from coming in.  Also i do think tape would be better for keeping contaminations out to a higher extent.
Not to be over-ruling, but i do think it's a good idea! :D

Do you need to sterilize the perlite, and how would you accomplish this?

Thanks anno,
I have researched casing teks down at the nans nook and decided on doing the hongus tek (casing for dummies since this is my first time casing)

http://www.nansnook.com/~archives/tek/hongus.htm

By looking at what is going on at this site i was taking in mind that maybe if i flip the casing to get it out of the container when it is colonized, i was wondering if they would grow on the botton(top when out of container) and sides...because of this many mushrooms grow on the top of the casing in those pictures but if taking it out for the mycelium to grow there pins that they start on the sides and bottom to not leave them to a waste...or i could just take it out and leave it sitting on the bottom to let the sides and the original top to grow out for max flushes(beeing careful about bruising the original top while taking it out in this case)?????
If you could give me a hand on this one that would be extremely helpful, if not i will just go with the original tek!
I also want to try a bulk substrate which i was wondering, would i be able to use just vermiculite in, (I could maybe, but only maybe get a greenish type straw off my friend if that helps any for this, but if there is just a vermiculite use only way could you help me out with that) and also all those other steps to making a succesful bulk?  If you could give me some additives on this that would be surely appreciative!
Thank you once again! :D

P.S.  When fruiting how do i know the humidification level(%) and how to lower it or higher it(RH level which i do not know what that stands for?)

I would like to endeer some help on my flat cakes and my trarrium work!

-  Do flat cakes need a trarium do to this picture of Eatyualives flat cake tek on Nansnook, looking as if he has nothing covering the rack but i see hindges so maybe never mind about this or answer either one works?

-  Also, how long for anyone of my creative experiments can i leave in the Trarrium without fanning or spraying do to the lack of care taken away by work and school?

-  Is it only for other mushroom types that grow on the sides of flat cakes or does that go with P. Cubensis also....and if i do not take the flat cake out of the container will they still grow huge flushes as heard and maybe even after the first flush be able to take out, dunk, and leave out for a no container flat cake flush?

I would appreciate it if i could get my questions answered, and thank you everyone this forum is giving great help to all my peering needs that have strucken me over my shoulders!

Oh yes and i was just wondering, is there another possible way to sterilize the vermiculite if the pressure cooker is not big enough to hold 4x it's usual capacity, such as microwave or is that good enough?

Indubidibly, i was thinking the same deal with the bag/stick, but yes i will need to go purchase some clear plastic bags or stop being such the lesser man with the no money and all, shit and i really wanted to see your video you got posted (damn crappy computer)
Thanks alot, gooba!

Sorry i could not see your video but differrent subjects peer before me, when my casings are fully colonized and i have not enough room for each of my them in the terrarium what would i be able to do?  Just leave them on the rack in my closet or do they have to be in something particular to a terrarium? I am at a confusing state of mind!
