Nvm I had someone bring over a camera but it was kinda crappy. One of these is unrelated its just MY FIRST TIME ever seeing pinning take place on WBS while its still in the jar.  Now that I preview it you can't really tell and the pics came out huge and I don't wanna ---- around resizing them sorry. But thats the WBS

Sorry trout, I just realized that I took a pick of the analysis and not ingredients, here they are: Millet/ Sunflower/ Screened cracked corn/ wheat/ saffleflower.  They make various mixes thats just the one they had at the time.

<< jr,What size tub/sub and spawn ratio have you been using?

Glad to here all the good reports and feels on wbs and popcorn. Based on what you are seeing and feeling. There is no reason why a mixture of wheat, barley and or oats mixed with corn, would do the same if not much better. A trip the grocery store and you should have it for under $10 too. 2-DA- Lou 2 U

ok areallyfunguy, go to the store and get enough of all of that so it adds up to 20lbs for under 10$.

Don't rule out adding some potato to the grain mix either, a very economic and available ingrediant too. Either cook and mash them first or go with the instant buds. I know of a one who has done this for years. Tra-La - La I see they saw.

If economics and volume is what we are talking about,.. You may find this interesting. I am looking at my invoice for 100lbs of corn fine ground to my specs for 13.50 total. Yes just thirteen dollars and fifty cents for 100 lbs of corn meal. Now that is hard to beat.

Post by: psilocybin warrior on May 03, 2009, 09:04:28 AM
I thought we were going to a grocery store for wheat, barley, and or oats mixed with corn? 100lbs of corn meal is hard to use in this hobby and totally not what we were talking about, thou I am a farmer can you give me the company name because 13.50 is hard to beat.

The farm outlet store is in a town a few miles away. Logistically it may not be feasible for you to get that pricing. I am fortunate enough to be in an area where much grain is produced. Also it seems the closer the feed and seed stores are to a larger city,... the higher the price becomes. Earlier when I mentioned the grocery store as a source for grains, it was with a view to someone who need a certain amount just to get started. I have friends and neighbors who farm to so I am always able to get corn at its' base market price.

Very impressive. I've had no luck with grains yet. (that is I keep making mistakes only some of which I'm aware of) My biggest mistake has been that the grains were too wet when I inoculated them.
  Great job.

ok heres some more pics, this is the 3rd flush. that casing was only 1 pint of popcorn and it just keeps flushing.

Fattrout,
  Very Impressive,....!
I have been using brown rice, or rye, mixed with millet for years.  You have motivated me to give the popcorn a shot.
I'll let you know the progress shortly.
    Peace.

Very Inspiring. I just inocced up 6 pints. 3 with Storm Chasers and 3 with PE. Last time I tried popcorn was with an LC. I screwed up and got a contaminated jar with each different LC. This time I made damn sure that the Popcorn wasn't too wet. Wish me luck. If it matures I'll post pics.

Dang .. the popcorn thing seems to be looking good and easy .. but for me would be way to much!!  I don't have many people that like to trip so I dont' grow a bunch at a time .. just when I want them I grow enough for me.  But it all looks good .. great job!!!

Shroomzer,....
Aren't you up north??   If so, it might be nice to get a seal-a-meal, and up production.  The squirrels store nuts for the winter,.......so we store what we can't eat for those occasions too!
  Just a suggestion,....

Malabar .. well I could be up north, depending on where you are .. lol.  Yeah I thought about the storage thing, but I am sure I could get too much, and then I wouldn't wanna play in the "lab" anymore!

Shroomzer,...  I'm in N. Florida.  Came down from upstate NY.  I grow like I am getting ready for the "second coming"!  But, I Never get bored with playing in the "lab",....
A matter of fact, when I should be working my art, I am spending time with the "little ones"!

Ahhh .. well I am waaaaaaay west of you =).  And yeah I love the lab too!  So investing in a seal-a-meal could be an option.  How long do they stay 'potent' even in seal-a-meal? I mean I have the butcher seal all my meat that I freeze, so I know that could extend the preservation.

I don't know the exact stats, but we have been eating some of the "Crispy Critters" that I have dated 8/3/08 while on the road with a couple of my shows, and any, and everyone that has had them have Tripped Bawlz!  I pack them 14g/pouch, stick them in the pantry or freezer and they are like having little Survival Packetswhen you travel or whatever!
Considering the date, that's almost a year,.....
By the way, seal-a-meal works pretty good for meats, and veggies too!  lol

Hi!After inoculation is it better if u remove tin foil from your lids if u use polyfil filters? And is it better if u inoculate spore syringes in the middle of the jar than on the sides by the glass? Thanks

   Sorry about that PW,.....
My bad!  I dragged everyone away from the subject.  You know how we get.   ^_^

  For Cugak,

  >  I leave the foil on and inoculate right on through both.

  >  And, IMO it is best to inoculate at multiple spots along the glass sides, as to allow the solution to drive the spores to various locations andthe bottom, which may not be reached if you only hit the center of your substrate.  Then shake them up, and let them do their thing.
