Title: Psilocybe semilanceata vs cubensis
Post by: jimboyia on December 26, 2010, 08:27:44 PM
Howdy shroomers -

any difference between these 2 i.t.o ease of cultivation? I'm a first-timer looking to get started but would prefer to aim for simple success.

Also, where could I order spores for either?

I would go with Cubes bro...there are alot more teks and forums on the Cubes then any other mushroom species, plus Cubes are pretty simple easy to grow with some knowledge (knowledge is power!)... I usually get my spores from earthstongue.com (http://earthstongue.com)  it is a little more for their syringe but there is twice as much... at least that's how it used to be, also alot of people go through ralphstersspores.com (http://ralphstersspores.com) good luck

Yes, grow some cubes, Liberty Caps are a difficult species to grow indoors. You might want to look into Panaeolus Cyanescens, or Mexicana, Sclerotia.http://forums.mycotopia.net/exotic-magic-mushroom-species-dung-lovers-pan-cyans/ (http://forums.mycotopia.net/exotic-magic-mushroom-species-dung-lovers-pan-cyans/)

In my humble opinion, stick to SporeWorks.com or RalphstersSpores.com, and yes, sclerotia would be a good idea to start with considering that all of the growth is done inside of the jar and would be the easiest to grow. Psilocybe Mexicana grows fastest followed by Galindoi then Tampanensis. You could have something to eat in as little as six weeks, research.
