i dont know about pre sterilized jars  i guess it depends on were you got them
u can use a heat pad but take temp a few times (i would do a bottom and a top temp reading some heating pads may get to hot)
i like to keep  mine at 82 some people say thats too high some people say its to low its what my jars colonize the fastest at so thats what i use

i have read and read and read on these things and they say u should give it a week after 100% colonization to let the myc really get a hold on the substrate
i don't know how long they can stay in the jars until it starts to damage them sorry
but i know u have at least 2 weeks and u can slow the growth down if u put them in a refrigerator

try making like12 jars every 2 weeks or week
soon youll have more cakes to know what to do with trust me
then case them or what ever u want
what if ur  room got a contam
that would suck
and u would have a bunch of not so potent mushies if they droped spores
if u case  and it gets a contam only that one is gone not as big of a loss of time and effort

i made a small drying container with a PC fan and screen i was thinking of putting it behind my xbox wile it runs temps rang from 90-100 is that too high
will it decrease the potency ??

Monotub is best when it contains a bulk sub.  Bulk holds moisture and it creates RH (as it dries up a bit)  I dont think a crumbled cake cased would work, i never heard of it.
how would that not work???

a mono tub is  a growing chamber set up to minimize care, with vents for air exchange.

i use the 3 small tin deal at wal*mart 1.50 and put them in a one of thoes big deep tin pans with the plastic top 2.50 hooked a fish pump to it for fae $15 works alright cheap too
i also use a 35 gallon tub with cool mist

nickle - quarter  popcorn nugget size
u get bigger shrooms if u dunk ur cakes
i did 1/4inch coir on bottom then my crushed cakes 1/2-1inch of coir on the top
incubater 4 days then fruit
12-16 days later u should c pins if all goes good
it took my b+ about 12 days it took my golden teachers about 15

what else could I put it in besides a bread tin?  I should use the perilite normally as I would in a regular chamber? 

any thing it can fit in. if ur using an fc with perlite then yes
u can case it a tub(AKA monotub) if you do not want to use perlite or any other Humidifying tek

verm is hard to come by were i live so i only use it in cakes + coir is really cheep

i do casings with coconut fiber that way i dont need lime stone
but when i do use it i get if from work(i work at a tree nursery)
the only thing i would worry about is that it is palletized
lime stone is a buffer for the Ph level if it is to high it will bring the Ph down
what are u using for a casing mix?? if u use peat u should use lime
i think i have heard of people using charcoal but dont hold me to it

but i have another casing in a different fc (no retards)and the mushrooms got 2-3 inches then started braking Vail is this normal for b+ or golden teacher
