Title: harvesting ?
Post by: Vandal_xx on March 31, 2010, 06:06:18 AM
My first batch of cakes have a few fruits on them that are ready for harvest, but tons of other little guys. The new pins far outnumber the fruits that are ready to pick. Can I just pick the ones that are ready and wait for my pins to develop, then dunk for the next flush?

You can but I'd wait just a bit... if the caps start to curl its just a cosmetic thing but nothing to worry about. I'd let each "patch" develope until no more growth can be seen and then harvest.

Just my thoughts ;)

If  I have a mushie or 2 that are way farther ahead then the rest of the bunch sometimes I will pick just a couple... I havn't noticed a difference after I pick em the others still grow good.... your preference I guess....

I agree with moorhs. I too have harvested a few more mature fruits and let the rest continue to grow with no noticeable adverse effect.
