PF - Tek / Disaster Strikes
April 01, 2010, 06:34:37 AM
Ok so last night my cakes were fruiting beautifully... But somehow in the middle of the night by some unseen force of nature (my dog), My perlite filled terrarium capsized and tipped over :-(. Luckily my cakes stayed in the terrarium and did not touch the floor..  After noticing what had happened, I quickly and softly placed the cakes back on the jar lids and raised the humidity back up. I did lightly spray a few of the cakes because the seemed a bit parched.  Then I looked at the Temp and Humidity gage and the lowest it got during the night was 68 degrees and the humidity low was 65 percent. The question I have is did this accident totally screw my project? or will the mushrooms continue to grow?

PF - Tek / Pin / Cropping Question

ive had my cakes in the terrarium for 7 days. ive maintained a temp of 75-80 degrees and a constant humidity level of 95%..  The only mistake ive made was the first day when i put the cakes in I laid them directly on the Perlite.  I quickly corrected this problem the next morning and placed the cakes on jar lids...  Nothing happened as far as growth until now.. But the only growth I have is coming from the remaining perlite that is on the bottom of the cakes that i could not get off.   Can you please tell me why this is happening and will my cakes fruit in other spots besides the bottom?..   by the way before placing cakes in terriarium I did the dunk and roll technique. Oh and the growth on the bottom are mushrooms. Small and brown

Cultivation / Terarrium Question
March 22, 2010, 05:37:12 PM
i have a terrarium its a 15 gallon plastic tote..  I have perlite about three inches deep.  and im growing 12 half pint jars of equadoran.   The question i have is..  i was having a hard time keeping my terrarium above 70 degrees, so i purchased a reptile light and have it placed outside of the terrarium ...  so far its been keeping temp between  73 and 78 degrees and i have been maintaining a humidity level of  88 to 93%.  Is it ok to keep the light on at all times? Or is to much light bad for the mushrooms?

General topics / Mycelium Question

Hi I am new to growing.. I have started a batch of 12 1/2pint jars . i innoculated them on the 27th of January.  as of now only 2 jars show signs of mycelium..  the growth is probably the size of a 50 cent piece on both jars... However none of my other jars have growth at all..  I innoculated each jar on the edges so it would grow outside in...  Can someone please tell me why the other jars are not growing...  by the way i used equadoran
