I can finally claim success after failing about 5 times.  The climate that I live in is extremely dry and It's been a challenge for me to keep my cakes moist and warm enough for them to pin.   This is my 3rd flush with these cakes and I'm noticing that my caps are not as light of a brown as they were the first flush.  I feel like they could be getting too much water so I'm backing off the water about 15%. As I look at the pictures of the grow I can see them slowly changing color with each pic over the course of 2/3 days. Can anyone confirm or rebuttal my hypothesis?  These are just a few basic pics.  Tell me what you think?

PF - Tek / Fruiting Chamber questions?!?!
February 14, 2013, 03:53:22 AM
Here are a few questions I have been wondering about.  I have read a few conflicting answers to these problems so I was wondering if any of you smart cultivators could shed some light on this for me. Thank you for your time and input! -- Happy growing.

1)What are the temp ranges and humidity levels do you keep your F.C. at when fruiting?  (I've read about 4 conflicting theories on this)

2)Can I directly mist the cakes or should I just spray the walls and let it drip down?

3)I have a closet I can put these in....should I buy a humidifier and keep the ambient R.H. at 99?? ( I have the cakes on a layer of perlite and It seems to stay in the >85% range)

4)How important is Air exchange and CO2 levels to get the cakes to pin? What should I do to encourage pinning?

Cultivation / Good Mycelium Growth but no Pins
November 07, 2012, 10:56:26 AM
My cakes have been in the chamber for 4 days now and I have no pin growth. The temp is a stable 77 with 99% humidity.  I have a very small fan circulating the air and I am not getting any growth at all. I should be seeing pins starting to develop by now right? Is my temperature high enough?  Here are two quick pics I took. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them. Thanks you....I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

PF - Tek / So Close...
August 15, 2012, 02:55:51 PM
This is my first grow but I'm doing well. I've read everything I can get my eyes on and watched/purchased from http://www.mushroomvideos.com .  I've had everything going to plan until now.   I have my fully colonized cakes in the fruiting chamber but so far no pins or caps starting.  They looking healthy and smell good but I'm not getting any growth.  My humidity is 99% and the temp is between 72-76.  They have been in the fruiting chamber for 4 days now after I completed the dunk and roll step. If anyone has any insight or anything as to why their growth all of a sudden seems to be stunted I would appreciate the info. (Maybe I'm not being patient enough)  Here are some pics of my grow.
