I've been working with psy cub's 10/4 on the plastic bag I currently have one rye casing using coir/verm mix. There's no visible signs of contamination ima try the plastic bag method I don't think the humidity is where it should be. BRF cakes got it they've never let me down yet I'll stick to em.  What about light? Should I get a light? I've got a closet at my disposal and I'm still not set up :(. What strains do u recommend that do well with the BRF cakes?

Thanks a lot man I agree the mycodome was a Waste I paid 120 buckeroos for it o well live and learn it was an impulse buy. This method u showed me was that for brf cakes or what kind? Will the same thing work for a casing? I havnt had much success with casings using rye should I stick to the brf cakes? What strain would u use?

Hey there everyone I'm needing direction I have a mycodome right now and have had great results. However there seems to be a bigger hunger for beautiful fruits where I live than I thought. So this is where I'm needing help I know casings are the way yo go when wanting a bulk set up. What would you all say are the best ingredients for a casing? Should I jus get a mycobag? I'm thinking about continuing with the golden teachers and penis envy and would like to get another strain I'n there prolly oysters. Would these strains be ok I'n the same fruiting chamber? How big of a fruiting chamber should I use? If you could point me I'n the right direction I'd highly appreciate it thanks a lot.

Cultivation / Fruiting
June 16, 2011, 02:46:09 PM
Ok folks I've got 7 fully colonized brf cakes with a few different cultures. Today is officially day 9 of fruiting and I've only got pins on 2 or the cakes?  I do have 2 different sizes; 2 of them are pints while the rest are half pints. The ones that have pins are the smaller half pints. Ive heard of casings and I've read about it a little bit an I was wondering if you all think I should maybe crumble up the bigger pint sized cakes and try to case them?

Ok then I'll wait it out. About 3/4 of the jar is myc'd out and it's at abou room temp about 77deg. Ima try to lay it down on it's side to finish up should I lay it on the side that dosnt have the myc or the side that does? The jars are about a pint I'n size so does this mean I should expect more pins or does it matter on how big the cake is?? I started 5 more of the same size jars but I only filled them about half way with the brf sub this time. today is the 8th day and they are lookin pretty positive. One of the jars that I inoculated got a heavy hit of the actual dark spore that was floating around the seringe is that a prob? There's myc all around it too I kno discoloration is bad but this seems to look ok to me?

PF - Tek / Incubating done?????

How's it goin folks I have a question I'm about 3 1/2-4 weeks into my incubation period and the mycelium I'n my jars was growing nice n steadily. I used the brf as a substrate off te pf teck vol 1-4 however I don't have the same size jars as mr man does i have bigger ones and i filled em up with the substrate. I'm wondering if this is the reason why the mycelium isn't covering the whole cake? Should I be patient and let em finish no matter how long it takes? Or can I jus dunk n roll what has grown already?

PF - Tek / Substrates. Mycobag vs. Jars
April 21, 2011, 04:36:48 AM
Hey all hope every one is well. Alright I'm new to the scene Ive got a mycodome on it's way and just received my culture (penis envy, golden teacher, and B+). I'm wondering what kind of substrate to go with. Ive seen videos on how to make your own but they all seem to have to be pressure cooked and that's an expensive piece of equipment. Is a pressure cooker needed for all self made substrates? I've also stumbled across the Mycobags. Are these legit? They eliminate the need to buy a pressure cooker (I think) and that sounds good but will thy work well with the Mycodome and how does the fruiting part work? From what I understand the fruiting takes place I'n the bag? Isn't that what the fruiting chamber of the Mycodome is for? Are these Mycobags able to go thru several flushes? Please help me out 
