Title: Hydrogen Peroxide
Post by: kenene on April 03, 2011, 12:08:26 PM
How do I use Hydrogen Peroxide in the varying stages of preparation of brown rice cakes? I was told that it controls contamination but too much it will prevent the colonization of the good stuff. And if anyone knows please put in the ratio of H.P. to the other Ingredience's and the stages you would use it. Thanks.

The only thing I Use it for is to spray it lightly overy my perlite before I put my cakes on it in the FC.

There is no real need to use hydrogen peroxide. You can use it if you get cobweb mold on a casing. Some people use it to pasteurize bulk substrates. Keep your grow clean and you won't need it.

The only time I ever get contams is in the colonization period. I probably loose about 1 in 15 jars of my BRF cakes. I figure that isn't too bad considering I use a home made super simple glove box and sometimes have to rush my processes. Good luck, ditch the peroxide.
