IN THE FRUITING PROCESS, USING A BUCKET AND WET PAPER TOWELS, BEEN DOING FOR 4 DAYS BUT NOT ALL OF THE CAKES ARE SPROUTING ANYTHING WHAT CAN BE DONE.

Patience. It can take from 7-14 days for pins to emerge. Just provide them a high humidity.

Do you need to sterilize the perlite, and how would you accomplish this?

Perlite is pretty clean out of the bag. If you want to sterilize it, simply boil it in water for 30 minutes.

I usually keep my perlite in a large baking dish while fruiting. When I want to resterilize it I then add water to saturation and place in the oven at 300 F until the water has evaporated.

Adding a bit of peroxide or iodine to the perlite helps in keeping it sterile while fruiting.
