I have read an lc tek that says use an old syringe (plunger removed) stuffed with polyfil for gas exchange.
First is gas exchange needed
Second how do you guys do it?

Can I freeze dried fruit for long term storage?

Hey Baph or PW if I switch to 100% verm casing (sounds like less f---ing around) do I need to sterilize the verm or is it ok right out of the bag?

Can fully colonized grain jars be stored for extended periods?

My FC has perlite in the bottom with enough water in it so I can bubble air into it with an air pump. I also have another air pump set up to suck the air (CO2) out. Creating a constant FAE. The humidity is around 91-93%. The cakes and cased grains have been in there for 5 days now. There is some fuzz growing through the verm on the cakes but very little to no change on the cased grains. The last couple times I looked in there the mycelium on the casings had a lot of condensation. It could be that the temp is dropping at night as it is cooling of around here. I noticed the temp around 66f this am. I have raised the babies off of the bottom slightly last night thinking that the bubbler was splashing but the moisture was still there this morning. I have not seen a pin at all. I am getting discouraged. Any advice?

I have some brf cakes almost ready. Should I dunk and roll them or just put them in a pf chamber directly?

What is the best temp to grow mycelium through the casing layer?

I was in the process of G2G inoc. When I noticed some green looking rye berries. I had already opened the jar in a glovebox and inoculated 3 others with it. I know I have to can the four jars but have others that were in the same incubator. Do you think they will be contaminated too? There are also some BRF cakes in there colonizing How do I deal with this green mold? I have moved all confirmed contaminated jars outside. I think this happened because I didn't soak the rye first. Any words of wisdom?
