No, as long the sun is not so strong to dry the bed out.

According to wikipedia "Pure xenon short-arc lamps have a "near daylight" spectrum. The light output of the lamp is relatively flat over the entire colour spectrum."

So it should be ok.

So I know that you need to put 1-1.5 ml of the spores into each jar. But since there are four holes, how do I balance that out? How many ml. should I put in each hole?

Thanks to the achievements of algebra we can figure this pretty easy nowadays.

1 ml / 4 holes = 1/4 ml/hole = 0.25 ml/hole

Cultivation / Re: Casing Question...

I never mist the walls of the container, I always mist the casing directly. Just don't overdo it, the casing should be moist at all times, but it shouldn't be soaking wet for more than half a minute after you misted it. If it does, then you misted too much.

Are you sure it's green and not blue? If you wipe it gently off with a white napkin, does the green stick to the napkin? Then it's mold, otherwise it's bruising.

I never bought from ralphster, I traded with him in the past though several times.

Psathyrella or Coprinus genus, non active, most  likely not edible.

From what I know there have been many problems with sporebank.com in the past.

From http://www.fungifun.org/English/Pftek#a6

"Within 5-10 days (with certain mushroom strains it can however take up to 30 days) pinhead-size accumulations of mycelium should form. These so called pins represent the beginning of mushroom growth. In the following days also small mushrooms with brown heads become visible. When this is the case it's time to birth the cake into the fruiting container where the mushrooms can develop to maturity.
Some strains don't easily develop pins. In this case put the colonized jar wrapped in a plastic bag in the fridge over night and then proceed to fruiting next day, even if the cake doesn't show pins yet. This cold shocking usually helps trigger pinning somewhat."

Depends on the substrate.
If in doubt, stick them to he fridge in the meantime.

I have no experience in using the castings.

Give it a heavy spray with water to knock those strands trying to grow up down.
Also you might reduce the humidity in the fruiting chamber a bit so it is still very moist, but not just as moist as now, aim at 95% or so.

Stropharia rugoso-annulata does.

I never heard that horticultural vermiculite would be treated with anything. What brand is it?
How did you sterilize the jars? In a pressure cooker? Pressure cooking brf for more than one hour can make brf less suitable for fungi due to various chemical reactions happening at that temperature.

If you have a pressure cooker, you might give grains a try and see if the spores still don't germinate.

Did you inoculate so the spore water dripped all the way down the jar?

>Q1) How important is the temperature of your terrarium is it critical for the mushroom growth?
The temperature not terribly important, P. cubensis will grow and fruit in a fairly wider range of temperatures, for incubation a range between  70-80 is preferable, with around 80°F being optimum, for fruiting go with around 5°F less.

Q2) When and how often should you water your cakes?

Cakes usually don't need to be sprayed directly since they should be iin a very moist environment.

Q3) What is the technique for watering your cakes, do you spray or just dump water onto them?

Spray, but as I said, see above.

Q4) Can you buy the verm and brown rice flower at a regular store or does it have to be ordered on line with the spores?

See http://www.fungifun.org/English/Pftek

Q5) How Important is the air exchange in your terrarium? I have seen several videos that kind of contradict eachother on this one said lots of fresh air with lots of holes in the terrarium and the other said the opposite with no holes at all.

>10cc per 2, 1/2 pint jars

10cc is sufficient for 6-10 jars.

By what you are describing, it seems that the spores are bunk, dead.
Did you let the jars cool down completely after sterilization? Do the jars smell unpleasantly?

They look very colonized, they definitely don't lack humidity.
As long they aren't turning colors, keep fanning and they should eventually get pins.
