I tried using a WBS mix that had cracked corn in it with disastrous results. I prepared it like I normally do WBS without cracked corn and it turned into a huge sticky mess in my kitchen. I never attempted to use it again and I don't know if I should have used another method, I just went back to what had worked for me in the past.

Since I have started using grain all I have used is WBS. I have had good results with everything I have grown. I just scoop off all the floaters with my hand while I am rinsing the grain. Usually after draining and rinsing three or four times they are all gone.

Well put dub. I sometimes forget that I am dealing with people who think they know what they are talking about. I am open to sharing the knowlodge that I have gained with others but I have no patience for those who don't know yet act as tho they do. I am embarrassed for stooping to the level of name calling. Good luck to all. Let's all try to have a good time and learn along the way.

Rust has never been the cause of bacterial contaminants in any of my past grows. I don't believe that rust generates bacteria that can infect your mushroom production.

Why waste your time drinking some fucked up Tea that has verm in it when, if youhad any sense, you could just enjoy the shrooms. Please refrain from calling me a douche bag you fucking fuck. Quit asking so many stupid ass questions and use the search function, that is if you are capable of that much brain energy!

If they still haven't done anything I agree dunking them again would not hurt. Good luck.

It is an inexpensive way to increase your RH. It is not really meant for regulating the FAE.

If you are attempting to reuse contaminated jars and are steaming them for that purpose, you would want them to be empty. Make sure that you dispose of the contaminated substrate outside (away from your work area and the inside of your home).

Yep, yours sound like they are bad to me. Maybe you should make some kind of tea out of em or just crumble them up and eat them, that way you don't waste any of your investment. Let us know how it works out for you.

I have never heard of myc. almost completely taking over a jar in just one night. I have seen contaminants take over that quickly though.

You can turn the jars upsidedown and lightly tap on them to make the cake slide toward the lid creating an air pocket. Leave them upside down for a few days and see if that helps. I know it has worked for me in the past.

That's OK CAP, we all had to travel the same roads to success. Just keep trying and continue to study. Use the search function on this site to help yourself to information that has already been discussed. Once you get a few grows behind you you will realize how simple this really is. I had several failures before I succeeded.
