Title: WBS Casing
Post by: Nickodemus on October 11, 2007, 03:22:34 PM

If I'm casing my substrate with Jiffy Mix and limestone flour, do I need a humidifier?  I'd like to stay humidifier free, if at all possible.  My plan was to stick several small aluminum foil trays (http://www.shroomery.org/50/Casing-101) into a very large tupperware fruiting chamber.  Would a casing layer provide all the humidity I need?  If not, could I stick perlite between the aluminum foil trays?  Thanks for the help.

Yes, by misting the casing and by fanning the terrarium you can sustain the required humidity and air exchange.
