i built a mini chamber, only put a shit load of holes in the bottom of the chamber, 2 on one side for the air tube's. and i put the little pump inside on top of a plastic takehome container with holes in it... so all the air pumped out of the pump is drawn through damp perlite,  i thought it couldn't hurt while delivering a humid Fae in between fanning

your pump needs to be outside your FC. thats where the FAE comes from. if the pump is inside your FC it will just recirculate the bad air...

Hey Dave,
Fattrout is right on the money with his directive to have you place the pump outside of the FC.
As for you system,.  I have the same setup in more than 3 of my FC's and the only thing I do differently is I add a few drops of hydrogen peroxide to the container, and proved at least an 1" or so of water in the bottom of that container.  Be sure not to use too much peroxide though.  Just as it kills bacteria,.....it will do the same to the fungi in too large a concentration.
  Happy fruiting!

The mini chamber doesnt hold any cakes... its just perlite and a pump...  the mini chamber is outside of my FC... the idea of it is to creat a humid climat the pump can draw off and from their exust into the FC.  ill post a pic of my set up in a minute.

Thats the mini chamber inbetween
(http://i713.photobucket.com/albums/ww137/DavieK/mush007.jpg)
thats the inside of the mini chamber... the only hole are on the bottom so when the pump draws air it's pulled through the perlite.

thats a contaminated cake i left in its own little shotgun chamber away from the rest.. and its startin to fruit.  the fruits should be alright... right?

Hey Dave,
Your setup looks very similar to one of my own.  I think I understand what you are trying to do.  In a sense eliminate the use of external humidification, by pumping in damp air by means of the *Agua pump.   ??correct??
Nice use of the noodle, though I would still remove it from that container, unless you have allocated a budget specifically for relacing the pump.  Though it was designed for use With a fish tank,  it wasn't designed to be used in the tank, or ultra damp conditions.  If you take a look the Tetra site, (the mfgr.), they will warn against use in or under water, and the warranty will not cover replacement.  Unless you buy it at Walmart, and you keep the receipt!   Hell you can exchange anything there within a year.
** As for your isolated fruit.  It probably will be good, and if conditions are right, the culture may repair itself, and the cake might continue as if business as usual.
I have seem the small areas of mold develope on other people cakes after the 2nd flush or so, and they still ate the fruits.  And, they are still walking and talking.
Of course, you can run the risk, and why take the chance.  It looks as though you will have enough coming soon not to worry about 1 specimen.
Glide easy, and enjoy the fruits of your labos.

it fell over an perlite is covering one side... i was about 2 throw it when i noticed the pins, so i just flipped it back up an let it do its thing.  So far its the first pinning i've ever accompished, tho i might not eat em.. i'd like to see how they mature, an so forth

like always PW is right, to much water. i think most of the time when people build FCs.. they think  more water is better. but its the other way less is better. the water needs to be able to evaporate. check this out.

this works the same with perlite or geolite (hydroton)... note no standing water, just gave it a lite spray once a day. also i only have about 1 1/2 to 2 inches of hydroton..

Hey Fatt...those air wands are above the clay and there is not water in there?

Do you have your tropic system connected as well?

Cool looking set up and very professional....

Make sure your casing has enough water to support all those suckers, or else a lot of them can stop growing.
