Title: possible contamination
Post by: propsyko on December 10, 2012, 05:36:37 AM
Hello guys ! It's my first time and looking for advice to improve.

Since I haven't found any vermiculite in my region (for winter they said) I have done whole grain cakes : rice, rye and bird seeds. The rice was quite fast colonization and rye catching up. My bird seeds were condemned (maybe bad seed...)

So today, I just put in my 5 rice cakes (since they are fully colonized for a while). But after a few minutes some blueish, green spots started to appear. These stains (size of a rice seed) are worrying me, they were not there before I took the cakes out of the jars.

Please advise me on the possible things this might be.
Thank you

A close up of that back middle cake would be nice... but just looks like bruising to me.
