On some of my grows its taken up to ten days to see growth so just be patient. I dont have an incubator set up yet so temp is about 18C hence it takes longer to colinise than most peoples but gets there in the end.
How old your spore print was plays a part too as the older the print the longer it might take to re-hydrate.

dont worry from what your saying you've done the process right. I wouldnt get concerned if nothings groing until the 4 week mark. your just gonna have to be patient on this one but look on the bright side, at least youve got no contams yet  ^_^

there might be alot more spores in the prints you get from off the internet, maybe the spore print you took there wasn't enough, the more spores are in a syringe the faster it will take off.... just give it a few more days, as long as you didn't get the spores to hot they should be fine.... GL

hi evrybody.....

im attempting to do other SPORE TO SYRINGE , becouse i failed the first time....(i really need to get it right becouse here in my country it appear to be some problem with the legality of spore syringe in the shop..)

now im writing down all the process so maybe you can tell me where i get it wrong.

I have my spore prints all closed up in plastic single bag in my wardrobe at normal house temperature.
1 - how much print spore i have to use for ONE syringe? iv notice last time that one spore print for one syringe it was maybe too much but then i think more is better for colonize, and i scrap it all down.. (the syringe looked much more black than the one that i haved buy in the shop)
2 - wat kind of water i have to use?? last time i used tap water obviusly sterealized but maybe i have to use disstiled water ?
3 - and last how many days i have to leave the syringe in the fridge for a better rehidratation? last time i leave it only for 24 h

hope you can help me!
thanks

regards

Hi gang, I felt this would be a good post to share some info. When I make prints, I use small pyrex bowls and immediatly freeze the print after it is taken. When I am ready to innoculate jars, I thaw for just a few minutes then scrape 'em and shoot em. I incubate the jars near a radiator heater and it really speeds spore germination along nicely. The closer you can get to 85°F without going over ( this is important ) the faster the spawn will run. Usually noticable at 7 days with proper incubation temps.

I have never used paper to print. Seems that it would be difficult for me to place a drop of water on the print without the paper absorbing it. Never the less, it doesn't appear that your spores will germinate.
Sounds like it would probably be more successful to reorder a fresh print/syringe and start a new batch.

another important question,

can i reuse my NON inoculated jar for retrying ?? i v opened one and its smell like cheese....
maybe i have to reidratete and resterilize also the substrate?

ps: i use vermiculite and rice flour

Patience for me was the hardest part of growing for me. My first batch took soooooo long to colonize and way longer than average to fruit. If you think the ones you are incubatng are junk then do up another batch and put it in a seperate incubation box. That way if the other batch takes you can still use it.

its not about patience becouse regular spore becoming to germinate normaly after 4 or at maximum 15 days i think , its something about the spore and the water in the syringe .

i get this more clear.

after first attempt that i have failed iv found the residue of a syringe left in the fridge for a little bit of more time (after the first inoculation)
iv injected the water that was left just to get the syringe clear and make another attempt from the beggining.

the little water that i have injected has germinated!!!! so i think i have to left the spore in the syringe more than one week at least to make reidrateted or something....

the second attempt was made with spore leaved in the syiringe something about a week....and it failed also....
but it seems odd to me , becouse i have read that 24 hour for reidratate are enough!!
