Title: Humidity
Post by: JaRRn on June 02, 2004, 07:09:31 PM
Are the humidity levels to remain the same once the cakes hit the terrarium.
Or where can I find a very informative piece written on the temp and humidity levels, through out all the satges.  Im yet to begin, but Im going to do a dry run first to see how the temp and humidity levels go.  I see if I get them right then I should start not fumble along the way.

Ta.

During the colonization of the jars there are no special humidity requirements, just normal, room humidity(~50%RH)

Once you birth the cakes in the terrarium, they need a VERY high humidity, 95%-100% RH in order for the cakes to pin and the mushrooms to develop.

Note that when the cakes are in the terrarium both the humidity will be a few ? higher and the temperature will be a bit(1-2?) than if you run the terrarium without the cakes, because the cakes themselves evaporate water and contribute to the total evaporation surface and they also give of some heat.

I did a dry temp fruiting run with twin tubs (one tub in another with heater).

Outside air 20-22 degrees inside with heater set on 32 deg, i got a variation between 24-28.  Now time for a humidity run.
