Title: Panaeolus, Cyanescens, Subbalteatus, Foenisecii, Campanulatus
Post by: Azurascender on April 13, 2009, 11:34:13 PM
I have had a chance to experiment with most of the Psilocybe and Stropharia mushroom strains and have cultivated them to a degree of moderate to great success, but unfortunately there isn't much readily available text concerning the cultivation of my latest muse, the Panaeolus, Cyanescens, Subbalteatus, Foenisecii and Campanulatus strains. From what I gather they are very stubborn mushrooms to cultivate indoors, are all similar in grow conditions and physical features and do not thrive under the typical PF Tek conditions. I am not even sure they prefer grain as their feeder mediums. Any help in the location of grow guides or information of your own is greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty much a noob, but I think maybe shroomery.org would be another good place to ask around. This site and that are like my little guardian angels haha

My first introduction to growing was with this book http://www.amazon.com/Psilocybin-Mushroom-Handbook-Outdoor-Cultivation/dp/0932551718/ref=pd_bbs_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1239716600&sr=8-3
They have a chapter or two on growing wood loving shrooms and have ideas on how to cultivate them long term. I've got a couple of jars inoculated that I"m waiting on. They are much slower growing than the B+ varieties. Where are you in the grow process?

It can be done indoors, I think anno got them to work in a modified refriderator of some sort and the tek should be available at the shroomery. If indoors is not an option read into out door beds(long term) and seasonal. WBS and grains is frowned upon when spawning outdoors, animal's will eat it as well.  I think Adler wood chips are the almost universal outdoor spawn, many teks available if searched through google, shroomery...using good search terms.

Indoor growing is the only available option I have right now. I haven't even ordered the spores for this project yet, I like to thoroughly research the strains and processes of growing before wasting 20+ dollars on spores I'm not sure I am able to properly grow. I found a thing or two on Shroomery. I guess to contradict my previous statement, trial and error is one of the best ways to learn how to do something, I may have no choice but to experiment with a few of the teks out there over a couple of bought syringes. Special thanks to PW for narrowing down my search.

-I'd say no when it comes to things that have already been done.  If you can chill until tomarrow i'll have the link's you'll need posted for indoor's. I just got some other shit to do first.
