I am intending on doing an indoor straw basket grow. Unfortunately I am short on a tote that will house such a gigantic basket so I'm forced to use polypropylene bags to keep in the moisture and manually open the bags to allow FAE. But my dilemma is stagnant air, I know straw is highly succeptable to contamination for that reason. Are there any ideas on how to keep decent FAE while being housed in the polypropylene bag without the expense of my straw basket falling victim to mold? Will cutting slits or holes in the bag while running a fan indirectly be sufficient?

Haha, I have 48 2/3-3/4 colonized grain jars in the incubator, 1 3/4 bales of wheat straw and a surplus of laundry baskets. I was thinking about just doing the straw/basket technique and just wrapping those babies in some of those clear polypropylene trash bags. I've never done the straw/basket technique but it can't be much different then other caseless straw teks. Keep it wet, and make sure she's getting plenty of air come cropping time. I will post pics when I start my bulk run. I just simply didn't have enough room for the little pools in my growing area

I was thinking about going back to my roots and doing a giant PF-Tek grow again. I have 72 pint wide mouths that have been in a closet for almost 2 years. I'm not much of a canner, so they serve no other purpose. I was thinking about doing mexicanas, I've done this with rye flour in lue of brown rice flour 

I know it has slowed down quite a bit because of the winter season and what not around here, but does December deserve a photo contest? I have some cool ideas roaming around the ol noggin that involve a kiddy pool and a lawn gnome...

          I am interested in this mono tub tek actually! I usually just do a bulk run on kitty litter pans, never made an attempt at a mono tub. There's a guy on youtube (mycelian), that made a video of such and I was impressed with the results. Point me in the right direction? Thanks meng! 

B+ from my experiences have been pretty resilient to contamination, they colonize fast and produce a fair amount. They were my first grow, followed by Golden Teachers.

They look absolutely delicious, but raise the RH a bit during fruiting, I can see crackheads. 

If you are saying that you added vermiculite to take some of the moisture out of the mixture, you may have slowed growth as a result because you didn't add more of the nutrient properties that the BRF provides. Almost like spreading too little butter over too much bread...

I use a long plastic table (like a beer pong table) covered in wax paper in my closet. Underneath this table I use an adjustable ceramic heater set to 85-90 degrees, and a dehumidifier set to the lowest humidity setting. It usually takes only two days to get a tabletop of mushrooms dry this way.

If you think about it, it's logical to assume that if Ralphster's wasn't dependable, they wouldn't still be in business, or have been in business for so long.
I imagine that they only accept cash or check so that they don't need to keep records of sales. I order from them when SporeWorks runs out of a particular stock, and they have always been straight forward with me.

I use a small 1500watt space heater. I can program it to the temperature I want (76F). When it gets under that by 1 degree it turns on, and when it gets over that by 2 degrees it turns off. It heats a 13x12ft. room and only costs around $40 at Walmart. My temp only ever varies by like 3 degrees.
