Title: Cake question
Post by: boatman on March 05, 2011, 01:57:52 PM
I have moved my fully colonized cakes to the fruiting chamber . With humidity at 85% + there is no activity after 7 days . Is this OK? The cakes seem really hard , is this normal?

I put 2 cakes in fridge in plastic bag overnight and returned to chamber to see if any change . How long to pins?is normal or too long?

Thanks , Boatman

7 days is about the time you'll start seeing pins...
Did you dunk them for 24hours and then roll them in verm before putting it into your fruiting chamber?
If you did and its sitting in high humidity with good air exchange then the pins will come dude.

My first time it took 14 days to see pins on my cakes. I know it seems like forever, but just give it some time!
