85°F is ideal. My jars colonize between 70-76°F with success so you'll be ok. Where do you stick your jars and how long has it been? Patience is key with this hobby. You could consider sticking them in a box on top of your fridge; that area is always a little above your room temp

Are you in the states or canuck? All the Zellers are closing down and must get rid of everything; so PCs are super cheap there... Otherwise boxing week sales are just around the corner.

Ya, I second thought my question of the fan too considering you would have to mist frequently. I think if you're going to switch to monotubs after this short SGFC stint; you should totally save your money and just manually fan and mist your FC.

That is the same perlite I used, and it worked fine. Wear a dust mask when you pour it out to soak, I learned a dusty it was the hard way
A 6500k cfl should be ok because they dont really give of heat and it is deep in the blue spectrum.
I never used WBS.
For your SGFC are you using a fan, or manually removing the lid for FAE?

Ya, they're stalled out I guess. You could get 1cc of H2O in there like I mentioned; and put it back in darkness. My concern is that with the in vitro pins, that is like the myc saying its time to go into fruit mode. Like I said, I've saved mine with grains when this happened but If you cant do the grain method right now, you could stick em in the SG and start the fruiting. From my own experience with this happening - you may get like 2 flushes, but since these cake aren't 100% colonized, contams can take over. I myself had 2 flushes, then green mold grew with what would have been a third.

What you have in those jars are in vitro pinning. I've had this happen to myself and all turned out OK. You gotta get those cakes outta that jar though. If they are 100% colonized you can introduce light now and put them in your SG Terr. (I think you mentioned to me before thats what you were gonna do). Or if you were going to do the Monotub (recommended), this cake can be cut up under sterile conditions, and put into grain jars. When my GT BRF's stalled out and started in vitro, I introduced them to grain and the myc really took off in there!
That third pic... If it's been like that for a while it may have stalled out. When I had this happen, a member from here suggested I could inject 1cc of H2O in the jar to rehydrate. I did however take the lid off before hand thinking it was a FAE issue, so I was then advised against the H2O injection because I would probably push contams into the jar. What I did was the same as above; cut up the cake, divided it between 12 jars of rye berries, put it back in darkness, and I think I had total colonization in like 5 or 6 days.

There are 2 types of myc growth - Rhizomorphic, and Tomentose.
The web like myc in pics 1,3, and 4 are rhizo myc. Rhizo myc colonizes faster and is associated with fruit growth... This is the best stuff.
The fluffy myc in pic 2 is Toment myc. This is ok too... I've had jars with mostly this stuff and I still had success... It wasn't a great yield, but it was something and I was still very happy with the outcome.
So things are looking good for you... Don't change how you are incubating just yet, give it time. This hobby requires patience, and believe me, its worth it.

So what strain is this?
What are your plans? I am assuming from your pics you are doing BRF cakes in a SG terrarium or something like that?
I first started this way, and I met someone here that opened my eyes to a much easier way with better production.

Glad to hear you did a lot of research. You could always get a fly spore print online, i've seen them at mycology supply shops. Cultivate your own at home. Its a fun hobby!

Totally. When I go picking, it's good to have a lot of reference material to study your findings. And even when I'm sure I found an edible and I'm comfortable enough to test it out, I only take a small amount. A lot of different mushrooms in the wild can start to cause symptoms as long as a day and a half after ingestion and are commonly misdiagnosed by medical prof. resulting in organ failure like Darksyde just mentioned. The final out come can sometimes be fatal. I dont wanna freak you out either, but I hope when I said you may have something good, you had done not only the research of appearance, but also characteristics. Where I live, within a 4 hour drive radius, there are about 30 edibles that dont have look-a-likes... But there are quite a few poisonous mimicing bastards round here too!

From what I understand, if you're using hpoo you can get about 4 flushes before all the moisture is used up. If youuse casting I think its about two flushes. Just run under tap H2O for 1hr or so, then set it somewhere flat so access H2O can drain. Clean the tub with anti bac. Soap while the dunk is happening. I havent done a dunk with monotubs yet, but this is the gist of what I got from another member. You'll find a lot of answers from the member that replied to your noob post. Good luck!

After your flush, put your cakes in a clean pot of distilled or spring H2O. Put something like a clean plate on top so the cakes are completely submerged. Put a lid on the plate and leave it for 18-24 hours.

Growing from pine root is good. I think you might have a very nice find on your hands. 

Were these mushrooms close to any trees? What kind of trees?
Are the gills cream colour and free frome the stipe?
Do you have the stipe from that large cap? Does the stipe have a ring around it that looks like a skirt?
More pics? There are orange/yellow species so they just may be!

I've never had a syringe with a huge cluster in it. I'd say give it another shake before using and see what happens I guess. I find the needles on spore syringes I've used are really quite large so I wouldn't worry about a clog.

When you noc in your kitchen, is the area really clean? Another member I've chat with on here has a room designated for just his lab work, and he lysols the entire room and has a room hepa air filter running 24/7. I use my kitchen too, but because of contams, I use a glove box for my noc work, and even clean the surface of the table that I have the glove box on with lysol. I clean the inside of the box with lysol, and use rubbing alcohol on my gloves, the jars, and on the needle after flame sterilization.

Another thing I noticed in your description, you are using pint jars.
My stalled jars are pint jars, I switched my current jars to 1/2 pints. I figured if I can get 75% mycil growth in a pint, I should have had 100% in a 1/2 pint... Just a theory for my own failures.

what kind of enviroment are you doing the inoc in? Are you using a flow hood, glove box, or small sterile room?
did you give the syringe a really good shake to get the majority of spores off the side of the syringe?
Im a noob too, but I have got at least mycil growing in BRF cakes. After I inoc, I place the jars in a rubbermaid and cover it with a garbage bag and stick it under the sink on a heat pad. It stays at 85 degrees. I tried once in a garage becuase I figured it was pretty humid and warm in there... but I realized with the door opening and closing and with temp drop at night, it didn't stay at a steady temp.
Other members on here may convince you to go with grain. I was convinced. I have one new batch of BRF going at the moment, and one stalled batch of BRF... Im going with grain now myself...

The jars were noc aug.06
Stall started about the week of aug.20
I removed foil for gas exchange and turned jars upside down.
This helped bring some jars from 50 to 75%.
The jars have been stalled again for about 2 weeks.
Some of the thick middle areas of the mycil appear to have a mushroom shape growing.
When I dunked a few, it was in a pot of distilled water for 24 hours.

Good to know I can transfer good mycil to grain.
I dont have a flow hood, but a transparent rubbermaid with arm holes.
I use a lot of rubbing alcohol on every tool. Flame sterilize the needle.
Wear hospital outbreak gown with surgical mask and vinyl gloves.
Used a PC too. I thought I was pretty damn cautious, but shit happens I guess.

What grains and method do you feel are best for a noob?

I have had a few BRF cakes stall out with only 50 - 75% mycilian growth.
I am convinced they will no longer grow new mycilian due to some of the jars appear to be trying to fruit from within.
I tried fruiting a few in a Shotgun terrarium after a 24 hour dunk with no luck because they began to look bruised and then over night were contaminated with a green mold which I kind of expected.

I was wondering with the remainder of the stalled BRF jars, is it possible I would get results if I cut the good mycilian from the cakes and put them in 1L jars containing a wheat kernal or rye berries substrate like you would with a mycilian sample cut from a mature mushroom grown in agar?
