i was thinking about that idea, grow enuf substrate to cover 2m or 3m square out in the back yard and keep it wet on a driper all year round in the shade
would it live from year to year if i kept adding fresh pasturised woodchips a few monts before the season?
would it continue to grow and take over a bigger area like the entire garden bed?
if anyone had n e ideas let me know

P.S dont use butts with paper on them i.e ones riped from a cigarett, it hasent made a difference yet and ive had 100% secsess so far with riped new ciggie butts but i found today that all the butts exposed to the growing myc in the sterile jar had grown myc on the paper holding the butt together! this may be a serious contamination breach if the myc on the butt became infected at an early stage during growing, it would be passed to rest of the substrate during the shacking proces. not good. I got some large handrolling filters today and they are glued together or cordarized during manifacture, this should solve the problem! no food for the myc to grow(paper), the butt should stay sterrile! if ya did give it a go with ripped buts i wouldnt be to worried like i said no failures yet!

hey i had a similar problem with on of my pf jars i made a month ago, it was loded with home made riceflour and vermiculite and inoculated with p.cubi.
8 of 9 colonised perfect within 3 weeks at 82.f but one didnt, it staled too and grew a pale yelowish but still wight myc and to this day still hasent changed, like the myc has died? but i have just used the wild bird seed tek or wbs tek for short and im geting way better colonisation in a shorter time( 10-16 days from spores!) and no failures yet!

For a crude McGiver type fix to polly fill use just ciggaret buts! belive it or not, i drill a smaler hole than the but in the lid and force it though and there ya go, ohh and they r new handrolling or taylor smoke butts NOT used lol It has the advantage of being self pakadged, eaisly replaced at the end of each grow and dam chap!

Hey there, when ever ive dunked my cakes its been plain old tap water then off to the fridge for the nite then next day into the terrerium, geuse it depends if u have good tap watter but if its a real worrie use spring or distiled water. A fully clolnised cake seems to be able fight off nasties

Hi there guys
Im new to this forum but have grown shoorms (P.C aztech) for "Mycalogical" reasons ;) quiet a few times due to the fact i couldnt find any local shrooms and its been almost drout like conditions for a few years. Last year i found some growing in a patch near a large lake fed by an salt watter estury, there is a lil sotry that goes with these shrooms but first my problem i am on hear asking for advice on how to cultivate for "mycological" reasons lol these shrooms, i know they are atleast 3 times more potent than cubies, I have only one spore print so i have to make it count! Ive cased using the WBS Tek and used the P.F Tek with some secess with my cubies but this is an unkown strain to me! I foundthem growing from grass underneath eucalipt trees, they come out in our winter when nites fall is between 8 and 10 celcius and lots of rain. the story is that as a kid i went to this place with the school and was told by some local biologist  this was a place that the local Aboriganies would use as a rite of passage when the saw the "rainbow serpant"? in the lake..........hmmmmm..........strange coinsedence that shrooms grow on the edge of this saltwater estury,
My 1st ideas were to use the WBS tec but use sawdust from trees like the ones near i found growing and see if the spores take hold? Has anyone ever tryed to grow on sawdust?
If anyone has any ideas on how to please help me out, i am willing to trade this rear strain for "Mycological" use
