PF - Tek / Re: forgot to shake syringe

I also have a question about forgetting to shake the syringe.... i forgot to with my first jar i inoculated, and now in the middle of incubation i have one giant spot of mycelium...
can a single mycelia overtake an entire substrate? and even then, can it reproduce... i was under the impression that actual reproduction occures when two mycelia grow into eachother and "fertalize"
so if its only a single mycelia and it continues to grow, can it overtake the substrate but not reproduce?
if so, am i able to reintroduce more spores via syringe and hopefully they can try to catch up to complete reprodcution as im sure size of mycelia doesnt determine ability to reproduce... if the theory of mycelia interaction is true...?

Lol that sounds like a trippy idea, i hope it works out for you... my guess would be you only get a few super small mushrooms due to their lack of growth room, or u might be able to keep growing a single large mushroom for a few flushes... but thats my guess lol
haha write a thesis statement and proove/disproove your hypothesis ahaha
please let us know if it works

ok, so i just got a chance to personally inspect the jars.... the unidentified spec is a piece of either foil that broke off durring inoculation, or is a shiny piece of vermiculite... in other words, NON ORGANIC
also, on the color of the mycellium, they appear to be white, the only reason why in the pictures they looked brown was due to the lighting in my room and they were set on a wood flood.... i did not have jars available to me so i used my mothers crystal glasswear  so it looked brown because its reflected off of it...
the mycellium is looking pretty good (i assume) but im wondering on what it should actually look like as it is growing outward.  As a solid mass? or something that looks more creeping
thanks for all your help guys, we appreciate it.

idk if this might help, but the mycellium appears to be a bit darker than jsut white... when watchin a video for PF Tek, they used brown rice flour, but it was bleached...
for the substrate mix that i used, i literally ground up brown rice in a coffee grinder, so could this impact the color of mycellium?  i know that your able to alter the color of plants by putting food coloring in the water theyre growing in... same concept?
