Title: Mushroom Worship??

ok so yesterday i watched the "kymatica" documentary. About
halfway through they mentioned a number of ancient tribes/indigenous people,including a mushroom worshipping tribe/people.these were ancient folk around the 800 bc time?(i may be off on the year a bit)
has anyone heard of this?

Check out the story of Maria Sabina. It mentions a tribe of people who take shrooms. as for the time period, im not sure. sounds cool tho. ^_^

From what I've read, a lot of prehistory mushroom religions just can't be proved. Maria Sabina was a curandera in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. She is probably the reason for the west even knowing about magic mushrooms 1953. Psilocybe Cubensis was used in Mesoamerican civilizations (and still is) like the Azteks and the Amanita Muscaria was used in Siberia. There are also many recorded accidental accounts in Europe. Intentional eating really only came into vogue after LSD was on the scene. I just read a book on this...
