Music is a big part of any trip, I wanted to ask everyone what their favorites are while on their journey to the outside realm? It's kind of off the cultivation topic, but still important.
Deadneck
Could have been in the general topic instead of the pftek one.
But for myself I love classic music when on my trip, there is nothing better for me. And you?
Yeah, sorry about that one. I have been in this forum for the past 4 days doing research and haven't even explored the others. Personally, I enjoy The Mars Volta, Thievery Corporation, Rjd2, & Radiohead is always interesting. Thanks for the reply. I won't fuck up and make more posts like that in the cultivation forum...... my bad.
incubus, chili peppers, dave mathews, beck, daft punk, justice, the doors, pink floyd, led zeppelin.
be specific on the classical.
great post
psychedelic trance is always a must- try some infected mushroom
In the classical I have Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, Schubert,Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, Pachebel, I could go on with tons of them=P
Have you guys heard of Digital Witchcraft. It is bad ass music. You can download if for free just google them. Oslo Nights is my favorite.
Most of the music i'm into is not widely acctepted among trippers.
Baph
Baph: Run something by me. I collect music like it's going out of style. I think I have rough 2300 CDs on my hard drive right now. It may not be good for tripping or "accepted" by trippers. But that is a contradiction in itself, only because you trip and you listen to it.
Lost cause is right, I just saw infected mushroom at congress not too long ago! fucking SICK!, give shpongle a try!
PW
for me its wildlife, rivers and water falls. as for music it would be solo piano.
PINK FLOYD BABY!! Maybe some Elton John, Billy Joel, Bob Seager(sp?) etc.
anything classic rock =)
Yeah, Pink Floyd is my favorite. OK Computer by Radiohead is pretty sweet too. I think that I would like some 311 also. I imagine that John Scofield's albums "Bump" and "A Go Go," and anything by Madeski, Martin, and Wood would be excellent too.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WIDESPREAD PANIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
when im trippin i seem to have an insane liking for JIMI HENDRIX!!!!!!!!!
buti also like sound tribe, pink floyd, Rjd2, Lotus, widespread panix is good too
haha yeaaaah sts9, rusted root, i love widespread, the dead, shpongle, infected mushroom, astrix, rahja ram, shit....theres way too much good music out there......go to rothbury!!!
Wow thanks for such a fast reply PW!
I'm a big fan of De Facto, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist) solo recordings, Talking Heads, David Bowie will fuck with your head, Steel Pulse is the shit, Bela Fleck w/ or w/o the Flecktones, some old school Afrika Bambaataa, Gorillaz, Del the Funky Homosapien, The Grey Album by DJ Danger Mouse, Erik Truffaz (Swiss trombonist, fucking awesome, highly recommended). That's all for now.
Peace,
DN

Awesome, I 'm really glad you checked him out, and liked his music. My favorite CD by him is "Saloua." It's just chill laid back music.

MushieMan,
There's some weak shit in that list: Sheryl Crowe, Evanescence, Avril Lavigne, Matchbox 20. Really man, are you serious? You must be tripping if you listen to that shit........
I wouldnt trip to that trash.
PW
you must have one fucking dope ass strain if it makes Sheryl Crowe, Evanescence, Avril Lavigne, Matchbox 20 sound good...
i love all kinds of music. sorry that half my list isn't to your satisfaction. Deal.
I think you left a few off your list, like: Goo Goo Dolls, Britney Spears, Madonna, Maria Carey, The Jonas Brothers, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Miley Cyrus, *NSYNC, and maybe some Spice Girls . Those should probably be on your list somewhere.........
Don't apologize for your racial /musical handicap.
PW
The dude likes what he likes , let it be at that.
There's no need to bust on the musical flavor of any individual.
Baph

QuoteDon't apologize for your racial /musical handicap.
I never thought of Cheryl Crowe as being racial, then again I've never listened to her. Does she spit shit like N.W.A?
lol I dunnno, its a bit from fear and loathing "despite his racial handicap" yeah....sheryl crowe is tupac in disguise diddnt you know that?
PW
I have only rolled once unfortunately. When I did, right when they started to kick in, Blue by Eiffel 65 came on my iPod randomly. It was intense!
Celine Dion all the way =).
I really love slow, sensual music on a trip.
Best song ever on a trip "Celine Dion - Power of love" =) thats so fuckin awesome, you really can feel it :P.
This song from Yuna Ito -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lubcyrfvy5k is also amazing on a trip.
But at the end it always comes down to personal taste.
ya send my a pm or someshit, I'd like to check out your show. METAL!
Ma Ma's & Pa Pa's "California dreamin" Psychedelic man, far out and real grovey !
I experience this music in a Club and really get infected by this Band. This is really best music.
MArk Farina has about 6 different complations of mushroom jazz and anyone on here should like it to what was listed by all people. Watching dark side of OZ is always badass, Infected Mushroom I have seen live 2 times and was never impressed with what they do. On some of the albums they are great, I just personally dont think a great live show. I saw roger waters do the wall just recently and spent a pretty penny on tickets but it was well worth it by far, I think were i was sitting up in top of venue and I if ate some I would have lost it hahahaah, most incredible live show and what he puts on production wise will make your brain melt.
