Title: Dry Casing?!?
Post by: psycho4psilo on August 05, 2007, 02:43:32 PM
It seems as though my casing is drying out even tho I maintain a temp @ 76-78 & rh @ 94 - 96.
How do you mist your casing to keep from drying out when pins and shrooms are everywhere,
coz you're not supposed mist these or get them wet, correct?
                             - OR -
Is this moisture loss typical as they begin fruiting and not a concern until after 1st flush?

Thx,
p4p

"How do you mist your casing to keep from drying out when pins and shrooms are everywhere"

mist the sides and the lid that covers it with a fine mist.

The only moisture loss I see is the sides of the sub pulling away for the container it's in.
IME, it is common for that to happen when fruiting.
And I have also been told it is due to lack of moisture, but I had my GH at 100% RH for 24hrs before, and the trays were starting to get pools of water in them, and the sides still pulled away from the container the sub was in.

So I leave it to the mushies sucking out alot of moisture from the sub.
